  1. What are the trails like just above Knysna Called Concordia Contours on Trailforks.
  2. I'm all for personal preference but stating that clipless is used to prevent feet from slipping off a pedal isn't 100% correct. Like me saying "I use flat pedals so I don't fall over every time I stop"
  3. I don't agree with you at all there. Correct technique combined with the right pedal and shoe gives you more than enough grip to not slip off a pedal. As for comfortable... subjective.
  4. Return the shoes to them and order a pair of shoes from Trailtech Cycles specifically for flat pedals. Leatt makes a few options that will work. Personal and unpopular opinion: Clipless is not worth the money and effort unless you are pushing big miles, race, or you feel that attaching your feet to a pedal will give you more confidence.
  5. Were you looking for a basic shoe that you can use on a flat pedal? Or, are you looking to switch to the clipless system?
  6. We raced downhill in the 90s on forks with 30mm stanchions. You really don't have anything to worry about. Especially not at your weight. Also nothing wrong with NX. Good honest piece of kit. Both bikes in the house have NX cassettes and they are really durable. Just a little heavy. Slap a dropper post on that bad boy and shred the gnar. Enjoy the bike.
  7. Misleading advert to me. No sealant, tape, or fitment costs specified.
  8. Give Cyclelab a try.
  9. Based on your disdain for Wolwespruit I would also avoid Red Barn. Go out to Buffelsdrift and do either of the 50km trails to start with. You can upgrade from there or add another shorter loop to the mix. Check ahead though. Some trails are still closed due to the massive storms we had recently.
  10. Had the same. He stopped contacting me when I insisted on COD or a cleared EFT before I let the item get collected.
  11. Who is the manufacturer and what does their website state is the warranty? It doesn't matter if you used it once inside of the warranty period. It is based on time and not number of uses. I would imagine titanium parts to have at least a 5 year warranty. Speak to the shop you bought it from. And wash your bike
  12. With the condition that crank is in.... How old is the BB?
  13. @JohnST (who shows as currently online) should really chime in here if he feels he can salvage his reputation. Really poor form misrepresenting this item as "Brand New" and only used "for a couple of training rides" Jeeez. I would be pissed!
  14. Another reason to insist on using Bikehub Pay for items like these. Sorry to hear that it happened. Name & shame.
  15. Thanks Matt The problem is iPhone and Safari. Will kill the cache and try again. Appreciate the help.
  16. Bought the Laut Bike Tag Bottle Mount for AirTag Sits on the bottle cage mounts. Hope my bottle still fits. Tight already.
  17. Anyone else experiencing a strange mobile experience? 1. When swiping back from a topic to the "active topics" list the whole page reloads and you lose your place to continue browsing. 2. Extremely slow loading times on mobile. LTE and wifi. Desktop is 100%.
  18. Thanks. Definitely excluding black routes on this trip. I want my fiance to enjoy everything with me. She is not ready for the harder blue and blacks.
  19. https://www.trailforks.com/route/mto-red-route/ Is that more or less a good option?
  20. I really appreciate the help. Will definitely give you a shout when we get close.
  21. This is not getting any easier haha. 4 days in a row of riding is going to be tough for us. We aren't used to that kind of climbing. 1: GRTP is a definite 2: Harkerville is a definite 3: Cairnbrogie vs Witfontein is now the tricky one.
  22. Ah yes. The sprocket mafia aka component suppliers that wont give start-ups the light of day. Tried to dip my toes in this industry with a direct to consumer online model for boutique brands including a very very unique frame manufacturer. Component suppliers said no straight away as South Africa doesn’t interest them. Clothing brands became impossibly expensive to import and sell at any kind of margin. Frame manufacturer was on board but without a good selection of components and frames it killed my concept. Oh and…. you need a LOT of money to start even an online store. The return is ok but don’t expect to get rich.
  23. How tech are we talking with Witfontein? I’m pretty confident on the rocky stuff but my fiance is more comfortable on flow lines.
  24. We have to pick 3. Witfontein Harkerville GRTP Cairnbrogie Some random foresty gravel grinds Home base will be Sedgefield.
  25. New carrier for the bikes arrived today.
