  1. Discovery is only interested in the heart rate/speed data. They will only allocate points for the corresponding heart rate/speed data and the duration of the session. As mentioned, can you use the lap function and edit the data in your training software or does it all have to be separate?
  2. My Dad had an R80 that he used to commute on. Good memories riding to school on the back. At one point a pack of smokes held more value than they did. Then some bloke chopped one up and turned it into a thing called a Cafe Racer.....
  3. I wear reading glasses. I am finding that when I ride, I can see the track ahead of me fine, but I am battling to read my Garmin when I look down... (Getting old isn't for sissies) Can you get "reading inserts" for cycling glasses? The arm on my Uvex just broke so I am due for a new pair.
  4. I had an issue a few weeks ago where my Vitality Drive Rewards odometer wasn't updating on the app. I could see my trips being logged on the DQ track site though... I called Discovery and they said it was a systems fault with no indication of turnaround time. I waited a week and still with no progress, I handed it over to my broker. Issue was resolved within a few days and I was "backpayed" my missed rewards the next Wednesday. My advice would be to contact your broker and let them sort it out.
  5. If you have Instagram I would highly recommend following him [emoji106] he was posting from the Roof
  6. I was the same. I just used to search for 80's music and watch the Fail videos. Then a friend introduced me to the Channels. Well.... Mighty Car Mods, MCM TV2, Bad Obsession Motorsport, Retropower Cars, Lyndon Poskitt, Adventure Spec, Hoonigan, Project Farm... and I could go on but this is a bike thread.
  7. I especially appreciate his use of CAD....
  8. If you are asking what I think you are asking, it will "slip" depending on your torque settings. Handy for driving screws into timber (Which is mainly what I use it for). You set the torque quite low on pine for example and it stops you stripping the threads or driving the screw too deep.
  9. No idea. Will look on the box. I bought it mainly to drive screws etc and drill the odd hole (more as a convenience tool). I still use my corded Bosch GSB16RE to do the steel fabrication holes if it can't be drilled in the pedestal drill and I have an old Bosch blue rotary hammer for masonry. My Adendorff unit only has a 10mm chuck though where as your link is 13mm if I recall?
  10. On the subject of Youtube Channels, I have been following Lyndon Poskit around the world with his Races to Places channel. They did a Dakar Mallemoto segment as well. He did it twice as a Mallemoto competitor and both times were completely different experiences. Really interesting channel to watch. https://www.youtube.com/user/pyndon The early Races to Places stuff is on his sponsor Adventure Spec's page https://www.youtube.com/user/adventurespec
  11. I bought this one: https://www.adendorff.co.za/product/mac-afric-18v-impact-cordless-screw-driver/ At the price I have no regrets. Came with a bazillion bits and some drills that I'll probably never use (I have a Starrett set that I use), but the Bosch/Makita/Metabo etc were way above my pay grade... if I was using it every day then a different story. I use mine about once a week at the moment and no issues.
  12. Too many people attaching their fitness devices to their dogs while they are at work......?
  13. As far as I know, the only penalty for not achieving your weekly goals are the loss in cash back for any of the boosters that you have activated and the chance to play the board. What ever points you earn that week towards your goal, regardless of whether you hit your target or not, will accumulate towards your Gold total (Up to a max of 30 000 fitness points and max 1000 points for 5000-9999 steps a day) Once you reach your fitness cap (30 000) you will still earn points but they will only accumulate towards your weekly goal and no longer be added to your running Vitality total.
  14. Only thing I could suggest would be to call the vitality call centre and see if they can help.
  15. Don't you need to satisfy ongoing eligibility criteria to stay on the program? I would assume that if you no longer meet the criteria you would come off the program and revert back to the standard rewards program.
  16. Same same then.... The response I got was that "it was a systems issue with no turn around time at this stage. Please keep checking back to see if it has been resolved"........ I have done all the research and I want to buy something. Yesterday. Dammit.
  17. Myles, please get them to fix the pay in store with miles option..... I need to buy something..... and I don't have a lot of patience. I want my stuff yesterday.
  18. AFAIK your weekly rewards goal is determined by your ability to achieve the previous weeks goal. If you are not able to achieve your goal that week, your target remains the same. It usually increases by 50-100 points a week. When I have been inactive for an extended period, my target has come down (Probably to encourage me to get off my arse and exercise...) My mate's target however is 900 points and it hasn't changed regardless of how many weeks he misses his target. I think that once you achieve the 900 points, it locks in at that target.
  19. To try and save someone else a lot of frustration, the Discovery miles in-store payment option is currently not available with no indication of the turn around time to resolve the issue..... I spent over an hour last night uninstalling and re installing the app and searching on their site and Google/YouTube trying to figure out what I was missing. Their latest App "upgrade" is really k@k at the moment....
  20. From what I have read, there are 3 bikes based on a similar platform. The S 1000 RR superbike, the S 1000 R naked sports and the S 1000 XR sports-tourer. All in various forms of tune and trim with slight changes in wheel base, seat height etc and each targeting a specific sector of the market. I am sure if they were based off the GS type platform then a shaft would have been the way to go. An interesting read here
  21. shaft driven bikes are for old sensible men... seriously though, I can't really comment as I've never ridden a shaft drive bike. I like a chain drive though. Easier to do the DIY maintenance. I've heard of silly money being chucked at repairs on shaft drives.
  22. Friend of mine just got one. Traded his R1 in for an 1190R which he loved. Then someone from the other side showed him a deal on the XR. Dealer tailored him a deal that he couldn't walk away from and he hasn't been happier. Can't say enough good things about it.
  23. Thanks Just had a read on the website. For those not interested in reading here is a summary as I understand it: Both benefits can be used together. You get your initial 25% cash back after your purchase (Max R4000 per device) and there after you get up to 50% of your device purchase back (Max R4000 spend) split over 24 months provided you achieve 4 goals a month. The cash back works on a sliding scale starting from 2 goals @ 10%, 3 goals @ 25% and 4 goals @50%. The more you miss the more you lose and you can't play catch up. Its a defined 24 month period.
  24. Sorry for harping on here.... with the device booster, can that be used together with Healthy Gear or is it a case of either or? If you miss any of your goals for the month, do you forfeit the benefit completely or is it only for that 4 week cycle and then the benefit continues when you start achieving your goals again?
  25. Discount needs to be allocated up front as far as I know.
