  1. JJ shouldn't have gotten a second season IMHO.... S01 was OK. I chewed through S02 with more effort than a pensioner who didn't have their false teeth for the Sunday Roast.
  2. I don't even want the 600.....
  3. I am like a mobile chicane when I am out on the road..... Having said that though, it is very easy to spot the Discovery Insure clients out on the road
  4. Ah OK. I am using the Discovery App not the Insure App. My Medical Aid, Insurance, Vitality and investments are all bundled. There isn't a facility to view the incidents as far as I can see.
  5. I doubt he will be using those leathers again...
  6. Where about on the app are you guys getting this info?
  7. No idea at this stage... I think I will give it one more go. Carb will come out again and be stripped and cleaned. I will have another look at all the seals and the connecting pipes and refit and hope for the best. Not going to happen right away though. Writing an exam in November so all available free time will be going into prepping for that. What makes it worse is that the 640 runs a BST40 which is a CV carb so there is a little bit of black magic involved in getting it to run right Once it is running though, they are great carbs!
  8. Working on your bike is fun but not if it is every weekend..... I am having a problem with the 640 at the moment. It was leaking fuel when standing so I took the carb out and stripped and cleaned it . Thought there was something in the float valve. Put everything back together and it still leaked so took everything out again and adjusted the float level to get more pressure between the rubber tip on the float needle and the seat. No luck. Took everything out again and replaced the float valve which fixed the problem but the float was now set wrong... too low after I tried setting it according to the procedure on Adv Rider and the bike was cutting out when idling (Float too low and it was running out of fuel) so out it came again! Float readjusted correctly according to the procedure on Adv Rider (I was out by a fraction) Problem now is that the revs climb to around 4000rpm intermittently. I set the mixture and idle while it was hot and it ran fine for a few weeks. Then the issue started. Sometimes it comes right when you blip the throttle and other times nothing happens. When you engage the "choke" the revs drop (sometimes.... other times the engine stalls) I suspect either an air leak causing it to run lean but I have checked all pipes and can't find anything... or there isn't enough free play in the throttle cable and the mechanism is sticking. I am getting tired of taking that carb out now (You need to strip off the seat, fairing, tank and disconnect the rear sub frame to get the carb out) It is getting to the point where I am contemplating paying someone else to fix this problem....
  9. Something I heard the other day.... When they were making the original Top Gun, Kawasaki weren't interested in giving them the bike and they apparently had to buy it. The director wasn't prepared to give Kawasaki any free advertising so they removed all branding from the bike. For the Top Gun that is currently being filmed apparently Kawasaki were tripping over themselves to ensure that Tom Cruise was riding the new H2R and told him he could keep it after they had finished shooting.
  10. Or you Sunday Superkibe riders in either full one piece power ranger Dainese leathers or boardies, slops and a T-shirt passing you doing 160 on the highway... There is only one rule in riding a motorcycle: ATGATT Doesn't matter if you are going to the shop for milk or heading out on an overland trip, dress for the slide not the ride! Oh and don't forget your earplugs. (Dammit I sound like our health and safety officer here at work...)
  11. @Hairy http://www.bikeexif.com/harley-883 Just to make things a little bit more complicated ......
  12. 13. Good CX500s are becoming scarce. Very popular for custom projects. You just need to Google (which I think you have already done) custom cx500. If you have the patience and time that could be an amazing project at well under the cost of the 883 and something unique instead of a mass produced bike without a screaming eagle or tassle in sight...
  14. As long as they are both 12V it shouldn't be a problem.
  15. @Hairy, Some advice... Firstly clear it with the missus first. You'll save a whole lot of heartache down the line (I tried the asking for forgiveness bit. It is easier than asking for permission but not easy by any stretch of the imagination...) Secondly, Do what makes you happy. F@ck what everyone else thinks!! Nice bike BTW
  16. @Hairy you need a Grom...
  17. With the right tuning bits, those little scoots haul ass!!!
  18. Ok cool. Generally what happens is that you will end up riding what your mates ride (That's how I ended up with the 640) They all bought adventure bikes (Mostly KTM640's , DR650's and XR650's. It was cool because we all traveled at the same pace and rode the same type of bikes.
  19. That pink swim cap comment was priceless
  20. Do you have any mates that ride?
  21. ^^This As with MTB's there is no single do it all tool....
  22. I hear you
  23. There are some that gave a place in my small world, just not the screaming eagle, tassle equipped, chromed out rolling HD Store accessory catalogues with a rider that looks like they were beaten with the HD riding apparell catalogue... Flat tracker sounds nice though.....
  24. It's a lot easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permision...
  25. Or if they are upright.....
