  1. Yeah we sat down to watch it with the kids last night. I just couldn't do it. Usually if a movie hasn't grabbed me within the first 15 minutes, I call it and move on. Kids ended up watching it on their PC in the bedroom and mom and I watched some more GOT. (We are nearing the end of S07 now.... not sure what we are going to do afterwards....)
  2. Black Panther..... started watching it last night. I managed to stay seated for the first 10 minutes. Then I had other more important things to take care of. (Dishes, laundry, clean the kitchen, polish my shoes etc) Based on the first few minutes, I am not sure what all the fuss was about. I doubt that I will have the mental strength to try and watch it again.
  3. I have not ridden an e-bike myself but I have spoken to someone* who has and their response after the test ride was "Dammit man, that's like cheating!!" * That someone rode competitive DH for a few seasons at the sharp end of our local DH scene and took his training really seriously
  4. Yeah for sure. Took me a while to get into it. Was definitely a bit of a mind**** I was hoping you'd see more detail about how he ended up where he did but I suppose that was part of what made it a good movie.
  5. We watched Shot Caller last night. A very good psychological prison drama with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau about a white collar worker that ends up in prison and how he adapts to survive.
  6. Nothing so far. If I had the time, I would go to court and fight it. As much as it burns my arse, I am going to go to the local municipality offices on Saturday morning and just pay it.
  7. We were up in JHB late last year and I decided to pop into Full Throttle to get some gloves for my son and I. That's when I found out that the clearance and retail stores were now one store and the sales staff that were in the retail store were less than useful. Stock levels were very low and as you mentioned, a lot of people milling around not doing much. Used to be a regular trip to Full Throttle when I was up that way. Guess we'll have to make do with Rocket Racing down here by the seaside.
  8. That looks really nice! I have been following Specht Designs on Instagram and they do similar work.
  9. What did they quote you for a new board? Electronic components are normally cheap, but sometimes the labour charged to repair is around the cost of a new one.
  10. Reloaded Game of Thrones a few weeks ago. My wife hadn't seen it yet and wasn't keen. We had just finished watching Viking S04 so I suggested watching it straight after wards telling her that it was basically the same as Vikings but with a little bit of nudity...... We are halfway through S02 now and enjoying it with a few WTF moments peppered around for good measure. Just need to keep the remote handy in case the little fella strolls in and asks "What are they doing?"
  11. I have been having a lot of issues with my Garmin Edge 305 not being picked up by Garmin Express to upload data to Garmin Connect. (I think it may be Garmin's way of encouraging us technological dinosaurs to get with the program and update the tech... Either that or Windows 10 and the Edge are no longer compatable) so this morning I took both the Edge and my S7 with me on my run. Both recorded HR and when I got home I tried to sync the Edge with Express with no luck. Would not connect even though I uploaded a run last night on the same PC running Windows 10... I was however awarded 200 points for averaging 77% of HRM from the Samsung workout that was uploaded. Guess I'll save myself the hassle and start carrying my phone instead of the Garmin when I run...
  12. Ummmm... No.
  13. I have heard of trailers being unhitched and rolled away while you wait for the robot to change... never to be seen again!

    Who remembers?

I went looking for a small run around a few years ago. Thought I'd get another Mini and revive some of the fond memories of my youth. Would be a cool project as well. Not many available to start with, then I saw the prices Decidedly average examples were going for around R30k....

1974 Leyland Mini 1100 Clubman with wooden dash insert, 6" Pioneer 3 ways and a booster. Bought it for R400 in 1991. Came complete with 3 leaf clovers growing through the carpets and more rust than paint Spent a few months repairing it with my Dad. Good times!!
  17. Audi charge R950 an hour. An oil service with them was usually around the R1500 mark with parts etc.
  18. I do the same with goggles. Fox goggles good price but battled to find lenses. I use 100% now. First question was do you have spare lenses and they had in stock [emoji106]
  19. Hearing aids, walking aids.... ballie is getting old after all
  20. I have been using Powasol bike wash for a number of years now. Dilute it 1:5, spray on, leave for a few minutes and then hose it off (Obviously not spraying directly into bearings etc, etc, etc.) I use it to clean muddy clothes and shoes as well. Works well as an engine wash too. My van's gets cleaned every 15000km. It doesn't work that well on really greasy parts though. I have a small bottle of solvent based, water soluble degreaser for those bits.
  21. Took a drive to the KZN Midlands on Sunday and stopped in at Steampunk Coffee. While we were chilling outside enjoying our drinks, I peeped inside their roasting room and laid eyes on this interesting specimen, Not sure what it used to be, maybe the aficionados could chime in and enlighten me.

I had one if those! Was always keen on the IT490. Then I rode a YZ490... it tried to kill me... twice...

    Who remembers?

I have a 1984 XR200R in my garage at the moment. Well to be fair, some of it is in the garage, some of it is in the shed and the rolling chassis us under cover next to the house. It is the twin carb RFVC model. Next on the to do list once my garage is sorted out.
  24. Depends on how you decide to nail it
  25. @Ed-Zulu and @porqui after reading those comments I may be inclined to take the money set aside for that nail gun and invest in an 18V cordless instead....
