  1. There is even a Mirage "Verein" society on the airfield who still have one tucked away in one of the buildings on the airport, here's a video of the last time they took it out for a taxi around the block...literally
  2. The building (Hangar) where i work now used to be a Swiss airforce Mirage maintenance facility, we have this picture on the wall in the coffee room showing the hangar full of mirages...nowadays its mostly business jets as part of the Pilatus pc24 service centre
  3. I drive 85km a day on the highway here early morning and early evening. Keeping a safe following distance is an unknown concept to many drivers here.... I have on occasion used the fog lights to give tailgaters a “bugger off flash”... it works sometimes and is safer than dabbing the brakes... I suppose the drivers in front might wonder why im flashing them with the fog lights tho....
  4. Ja, when you share they road with others Over here i run at night on paths that are shared with cyclists, pedistrians, Joggers, horse riders, dog Walkers...etc... no cars or motorcycles. Most of the above use some form of Lights and reflectors, even the dogs have Lights on their collars and horses relfective tape... The cylists always have the brightest Lights and ineviatbly there is one whose light is so bright you cannot see anything once they get close to you and you are temporily blinded once they pass. I guess they are not Aware of the effect their Lights have, they probably think they are being smart for having such a bright light. Strangely I bet they dip their Lights when driving their cars at night., why should it be different when Cycling?
  5. Fixed
  6. Thanks According to Wiki.... the SAAF did receive 5 of the Israeli Nesher versions which were converted to the Cheetah D’s (2 seater)
  7. Interesting, does not look like a typical SAAF paint scheme or Mirage 111 Wonder where they got it from...?
  8. Under normal circumstances that would be an option, but corona infections change the rules..... not everyone listens to or knows their body, therefore monitoring HR can give you early warning signs if all is not well. Take care
  9. I bet his batteries were depleted after all that climbing in only 156km.....

  11. Nice But the tyraps are going to mark your frame Maybe make a clip with a wider base and use some strong double sided tape?
  12. Agree on the walk and ice bath, BUT after seeing Nick Bester do the ice bath thing after comrades and then trying it myself later… i hope that i will never be that desperate to recover.. Ice baths suck Ja ja it takes 5 or 10 minutes to get used to it... you can also die in 5 or 10 minutes

    Formula 1...

Swiss News Reports that he has a broken jaw. Apparently the car was turning into a Supermarket parking lot, and Alonso hit the right side of the car. This indicates that the car was coming from the opposite direction to which Alonso was traveling, and turned in front of Alonso.... probably a Spaghetti muncher Driver....

  17. The pics were taken a km or so north of the Atlas hangars. At this stage my dad was working for a private company, he later went on to work at Atlas. In those days Atlas employed thousands of people, literally the whole of impala park and bonaero park residents worked there at some stage.
  18. All I remember was that it was sold and exported to a collector in the USA, my old man and the many people in SA who were involved with the restoration were not impressed. I have a recollection that it was subsequently sold and exported from the USA, but no idea where to.
  19. Haha that’s my friend Shane... I’m behind the mikndruk camera
  20. Found the pics of my oldman and his buddy working on Evelyn the Spitfire at Jan Smuts on the Bonaero Park side where my dad worked for a small airline.

  22. Mooi man, miggie just flew in my eye.....
  23. So who here has ridden down a steep, long tar descent full of switchbacks, and then stopped and spun their disc brake wheels to listen to the rub? Froomie rides more than most of us put together and talks to many others like himself.... he knows what he is talking about. The question really should be, how much does the rub affect the performance.... mechanical and mental ????
  24. Ditto, a big fat blue n green “trade safely with bike hub pay” Blue n green.... like one of those flies......
  25. It’s all those spikes and razor wire....
