  1. Sorry cant help wrt to shoe choices that you listed, so I'll wait for your feedback on whichever you do decide to get But i can maybe help with the wet shoe issue... stuff your shoes full of newspaper overnight or when not using them, the paper absorbs the moisture.... or if you really want to buy some more bling looking shoes just ignore this
  2. The paint is already kaput, remove the paint so you can see clearly what’s cooking underneath. I’d hazard a guess and say it’s only the paint that is cracked.
  3. Time to wake up one of the best threads on the hub Meet Mactavish, and my favourite homescreen
  4. I know a guy.... who had a pain on the outside of his knee for many many years Having had ITB himself he self diagnosed it as an old ITB related injury..... One day he took up golf but then struggled to walk for 18 holes due to said knee pain Out of desperation off he went to see a Dr (orthopaedic). 1 x MRI later diagnosed with a torn meniscus and a cyst (because of the old meniscus tear) on the side of the knee. One surgery and some recovery time, all fixed no more knee pain Do yourself a favour, get a professional assessment and treatment.
  5. Dunno about Roglics extraordinary performance, but in that other race today (PN).... TP could have at least looked like he was a little tired... Yes, i know...he didnt do a +/- 60 km break on his own like MvP did... but still
  6. At least Gino Mäder does not hold anything against Roglic, after seeing Gino's hand gesture as PR crossed the line yesterday i was wondering.... Maybe he's not showing his true feelings Gino Mäder on Twitter: "@nealrogers It‘ an easy scenario. First over the line wins. I just need to get there faster." / Twitter
  7. In the beginning they felt a bit narrower, but it never worried me. I generally dont like a shoe being to tight and will often create some slack in the laces above my top mid foot region, i wear a US12.5 hoka and the same in the other brands of running shoes. I also wear orthotics which make the fit tighter.
  8. I’m on my first pair of Hoka’s and have done about 500km on them and while they are still holding up well I have started to think about my next pair and if I should stick with them..... my primary goal was to find a shoe that is well cushioned especially in the forefoot area and for this they served me well. I do find they are a bit heavy. I’ve tried various ASICS and Brooks models in the past and feel that the hoka’s are definitely more comfortable and cushioned resulting in less forefoot pain, but then I’m also running less than before. I will most likely go the hoka route again and then get a second shoe slightly lighter shoe for the occasions when I feel the urge to run a TT.
  9. It's some Kind of Antonov (russian) i think an AN 2 I think some enterprising Saffas were using them for freight work, but those was many years ago They are slow as s h i t e in the air
  10. Been using rouvy for many years, just registered with Fulgaz for the free 4 week Trail and have only done 20 km on FG, so dont really have an enough experience. One Thing, FG Picture Quality is excelent, I'm not sure what my Setting is on rouvy but the Video on FG that i rode last night was excelent. I noticed that with FG you have a view of the entire route profile which showed my postion on the route, but it did not Show any other riders positions (which rouvy does), and yes there were other riders according to the Display that showed the riders FTP. Looking Forward to hear other comments

  14. There is an Emergency FAA AD which lists the following engines: PW4074, PW4074D, PW4077, PW4077D, PW4084D, PW4090, and PW4090-3 model turbofan engines. FAA AD 2021-05-51 The AD refers to PW ASB PW4G-112-A72-268 R7 dated Sept 2018, which depending what the PW ASB is About might indicate that there is known issue

Out of curiosity, what’s the purpose of the “safety” car? To protect the riders or....? in 33 yrs of road riding I cannot recall any reason to have a safety car, once I had to call my SOH to come pick me up.... but that was off-road with a burped tubeless that I could not get the inflated again.....
  18. The agencies don’t care, the more clients they have on their books the better. Moral of the story is don’t procrastinate when it comes to emigrating The clock is ticking, age is your enemy.... ok and this damn cv19 Good luck
  19. I had similar problems in both feet, my toes would start hurting after a few hours and then progressively get worse until the pain becomes unbearable. I tried various shoes and orthotics, orthotics with a metatarsal bar in the forefoot helped, but did not solve the problem. The only solution that worked for me was to elongate the cleat attachment holes in the bottom of my shoes, this allowed me to move the cleat an additional 12mm backwards. Works like a charm, now no more toe pain. The problem was genetics, my metatarsals have dropped in both feet and it’s right where the cleat is, creating pressure on the nerves which results in the most incredible toe pain.... I now use mtb shoes for both road and mtb, the 2 hole for cleats on mtb shoes are much easier to modify. You might need to lower your saddle a little bit if you do the above
  20. So it seems like this whole incident was caused by Fan blade failure (cracks near the base) resulting in the engine throwing a blade or 2... I wonder how often These type of blades have to get checked for cracks and if it was done, or done properly on the affected engine? Maybe LWB has an idea around the insp interval and criteria on These blades?
  21. BTW... What has happened to V12, see his profile shows activity but he last posted anything in May 2020?
  22. Don't you luv Arica... no matter how far or where i ride today I am never going to see Jeronky the Giraffe
  23. Very valid concern, the long term effects I wonder if the amount of coal / wood fire pollution has reduced over the last 30 years considering that (hopefully) access to electricity should have improved over the same time scale? A lot of the winter pollution comes from informal coal fires in the townships and informal settlements. I remember going into the townships in the 80’s and 90’s and thinking this is what big cities must have been like before electricity....
  24. Let me tell you…. When you are in the JNB / Gauteng area the Pollution is not obvious to the eye…Take a flight to JNB and then you will see the dirty grey blanket that hangs over the whole area, it is BAD, especially in winter. I'm talking from experiance having done many flights in the and out of the area... Ask any regular flier or pilot
