  1. The blue section over the top of the hill (near the swimming pool) has been dumbed down to such an extent its now a light green route, there are maybe 2 small sections that are tricky.
  2. Japanese Garden: Try it again with the 'Ball and keep to the left (yes, over the big rock), gives you a nice line into the corner rather than trying to "zig-zag" around the rocks before the first bend. "1st blue section along the river" - you talking about Vomit Valley? This is a tough one, the first "obstacle" is tough, probably get it right 4 out of 10 times, that whole section has taken a beating this winter, hopfully some rain will help it
  3. Still struggling with the one climb with the 2 big rocks (luckily these are too big for anyone to dumb down ) in the middle, just cant get the pedal timing / cadence right to make it through.
  4. Sharp left at the very top of Wendells
  5. And dont make my blue your green
  6. Cant wait to see it in the skies, :-)
  7. As long as he keeps away from the houses, dont get me wrong, I'm an avgeek of note, but ZU-FUD flying over my house repeatedly each day is getting annoying. Its not like they dont have miles of open space to go fly over.
  8. Kinda makes sense, same reason i drop to the smalled rings when putting the bike away, reduce the stresses on the springs and cables while not in use.
  9. Thanks for the input hubbers, always appreciated. Although not on the list I was lucky enough to get a good deal on the XT version, will be putting it through its paces in a little while.
  10. Possibly the lower limit screw not allowing the RD to get far enough to the bottom.
  11. Or you don't use Avids....
  12. You don't bleed brakes because you change bikes or brakes before they need it, ;-)
  13. Gonna be a schweet ride!!
  14. One key "tip" that helped me at the time was the rolling of the membrane back onto the reservoir before putting the lid back on, this helps reduce any air trapped under the membrane.
  15. Either your pads are shot or they need to be re-bled, quick home / DIY job https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/127707-diy-bike-tools/page__st__96?do=findComment&comment=1973474 Edit: Found the thread If you cant find the Shimano Mineral oil and some silicone tube + syringe from Dischem then the Tektro bleed kit is what you need (also mineral oil) +- R110
  16. BY YOURSELF!!! Sometimes its the best way to "find your feet", although I was edging to go ride yesterday but ended up watching the F1. Will give you a call and we can make a plan this week to give you the grand tour, planning to ride today, Wednesday and Friday, although Wednesday may be a "evening ride" as I hear that they have started up the Wednesday night ride group again @ Rietvlei.
  17. That's the plan for the GT, just getting it stripped and ready for paint.
  18. if you close the floodgate on the reba completely you should be able to get it almost rigid.
  19. B, thats one stunning machine, hope you have Many many happy miles on her! Train Heavy, Race light... :-)
  20. aaaannnndddd.... the suspense is killing me.....
  21. The main thing is communication, where that is communicated i have no issues with it, I do the same (been burnt before by not waiting, although not via any hubbers). As long as the seller communicates I dont mind waiting.
  22. 9speed but I bought a 10spd shifter, cassette and chain last month so the RD is the last step for the conversion
  23. Fellow Hubbers, Quick tech recommendation / question if I may. My riding is mainly rocky technical areas, I'm currently on a HT 29er and the "noise" from my chain rattling on the rocky sections drives me nuts so I'm looking to replace my older gen XT RD (2007 range) for something new. My 2 choices are (Limited budget): 1. SLX Shadow + (RDM675) 2. New Gen XT Shadow (standard RDM781)
  24. Hope I get an invite to have a flip one day, :-) I have a copy of the full documentary of Mike and James' round the world trip they did in their first sling, amazing story on how it all began.
