  1. I bought a Flux 2 3 weeks ago, mates all have Wahoo Core. I’m still waiting to have my first Zwift with power correct, have calibrated both on Flux & Zwift and still seems wrong, like pushing a cow uphill even on the flats!

Been assured by the LBS by calibrating only the Flux will work, going to try tomorrow, if not it’s going back!

  2. HTFU#5 mates from CT did it for my 50th in 2012, 7 & did 125km & 2 the 68k, hardest 1 day on a mtb but fantastic experience! Did plenty of climbing in training & plenty of miles but still was tough, hot & skinny air, long portage on loose shale & last 15k technical descent hard on the hands. We went 10 days early, booked Erik at MTBVerbier as guide & logistics, brilliant Dutchman, so lots of prep in altitude & technical trail sections & fun time! ???????? good luck well worth the effort!

  3. While not detracting from the great analysis, based on this criteria, the lazy Epic route planners could make 2020 up & down the Tokai mast all day, that way they can have a full service retail centre in the carpark and claim most climbing ever!

The excitement/fear factor of the Epic was the unknown factor of the route, clearly it is now all about the “altitude” and dollars! Time will tell?

  4. We used a camper for both J2C 2013 & Epic 2014....rode mixed with my wife, so took some pressure off logistics!

But just a word of caution on costs, use lots of lube, because the camper companies not very gentle with their pricing!

Check out relocation costs, proper insurance etc etc....+R30k at a blink!

  5. My son's (ex mine!) Trek EX 9.9 full sus mtb bike was stolen from school bike shed (it was locked) at southern suburbs school, Cape Town. Bike has XT groupset, Maxxis Lust tyres, has Epic sticker on headset & "Mike Byron" decal on top tube from bike service. Also has been painted in various places on the frame with Identidot system which should show up under infrared light and was registered via the Cyclelab system.

  6. I made a school error today and left my Garmin 705 on the bumper of my car today after washing my bike and then drove along Newlands Avenue!

Hopefully someone picked it up before it was driven over....please if you found it, please let me know!

    Thanks
