  1. I agree with you Caerus. I dont feel that I am training enough but just so short on time (Work, Kids, Life). I spend an avg of an hour per evening on the bike, 4 times a week, weekends, long ride 3-4 hours and a shorter 2hour ride. However, what amn I actually gaining from my week rides? At least 15 mins to warm up... Then ride at 70 - 75% with 5 bursts (1-2 min in length) of 85% - Max. Is this helping or not??? Admittedly, my times are improving, but I start to feel VERY fatigued around 85km onwards? And as for a base... well, I rode all through winter. 3 sessions per week and at least one 3-4hr ride on the weekends, so should not have a problem with base km's.
  2. I had this same problem with my FSA headset. Ended up, my bearings were shot to heck. Bought two new bearings and hey presto, no notching on pre-load and it is perfect
  3. Eugene's post is 100% correct.... But I beg to ask the question...... Why not just come right over to the Sram Family , leave the Shimano stuff behind. I made the move and my word, have not regretted it for a day....
  4. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. May the Lord bless you and hold you close Brett.
  5. Congrats... That is pretty good looking and this coming from a roadie Many happy miles mate
  6. I was going to ask.... Now I will just take cover behind your flame retardent suit.
  7. Must just add to this.... On my re-build of my new frame... I used Exus E-G01 Blue Teflon grease. Used this for my BB, Headset and other moving parts. Seems to have worked the trick. Nice grease, not too sticky and goes on a treat.. Happy with the results
  8. Big UPS! Now, the EX Scultura Rider... Might just keep up with you... Now that I have FELT-the-FORCE
  9. Yeah Baby . That is looking great DaLoCo, love it buddy!!! Trust em, the saddle might take some getting used to. I rode it for 8 odd months and it took me a solid 2 just to get used to the saddle. Very racy, but pretty hard on the bum bones Really glad that you are happy with the ride, really glad, makes me happy knowing that she went to a good home . Will be seeing you next Saturday then for a 'Leg Loosener" before the BIG funride! DaLoCo, I wish you MANY MANY happy miles with your new steed, may she treat you with great results and faster times
  10. No, no, no.... All it takes is a simple phone call the the Shop, ask to speak to Chris, tell him the problem and he will jump at the opportunity to apologise to your lady friend and sort the problem out.. Agreed with a lot of the above, rather speak to the person before ranting here, that is NOT necessary. I will be back Chris, today in fact.... My son is looking for more chocolate from Melani
  11. Chavez, at least myself and Berry are looking at 4.5hrs. Nice little 25km avg. SO, come and join us... NO-ONE will be left behind me! I will be the "sweeper" for the route
  12. Sorry Spat, same thought pattern here.... Lets use YOUR list
  13. So gents.... can we start this list again???? Lets just confirm by adding your name to this?? Wannabe DennisC niklasvm Woofie !? Raceface SirK Scultura Rider Big J-WP (maybe) Pronutro Berry Spat Dommisse? Tubehunter Supersix 3
  14. IF we go for a 4:30 recce of the Peninsula, probaly looking at just on 25km/h average. That for the whole route. Is taht gonna be too slow for you? Maybe if the faster guys want to go off and do it at 4hrs, I am sure that there are gonna be one or three of us that would like to take it a little slower than that and push on the climbs . IF that be the case, maybe all meet up and coffee along the route? Just a thought.
  15. Coolerbags
  16. 4 and a half hour ride???? Then I am in Any faster and I am going to decline, need this to be SLOW this weekend
  17. That is the right option . One trip around the peninsula is NOT worth doing permanent damage....
  18. Damn AB, why so much work this time of the year??? Come now, you gotta plan this properly . Will we be seeing the back of your Dale next Saturday for the "Peninsula TOur"??? Sure you gonna be missing the mini tour of the Peninsula tomorrow and I am more sure its gonna be missing your Dale
  19. Why aren't you guys coming the the BAY City Funride??? LOTS more climbs
  20. THanks again Luke. I am SO happy with the frame A LOT stiffer than my Merida and looking forward to pushing on thoise pedals from teh beginning of Smits... Good luck for tomorrow, go get the win again Thanks AB, you too I think I am going to be playing a bit of a sit back and watch game until Smits tomorrow, then might take it a little harder from there... have a BIG score to settle with my enemy OKW tomorrow.... payback time
