  9. Holy s.... that has been ages.... I have thankfully not had any technical issues with either the Shimano / Sram.... (touch wood)... make a post out of it, I am sure you will find some sort of assistance. Good luck
  10. Hey B... Castelli is a VERY small cut. I ride with a L bibshort. VERY comfortable shorts though
  11. Ha Ha Ha.... I remember that incident well... Least you punctured before the big day, rather than on the big day
  12. + 1 ONLY ride mine when 'racing" otherwise its back to my faithful Serfas for training!
  13. 2 in one day! I hate to push this even more, but Thank the Saints I am taking myself and the family out of here in 3 months time. It is getting seriously out of control, with incidents happening every single day. I would much rather ride in the cold, up some green mountain road, cars showing me a little more tolerence, than riding in the sunshine with a gun in my back pocket! Even contemplating just packing it in now and take 3 months off the bike.... who knows what might happen!
  14. Read the above from Mampara and myself, you need to pre-load the headset and this you cant do without adding the spacer. You might be asking for trouble if this is not done correctly.
  15. Yip, looks like you might need just the 5mm spacer just on the top. you need 1 - 2mm between the top of the spacer and the top of the tube for your top cap to squash down on. That being said, how did you get the fork to sit properly? You need to tighten (slightly) the top cap down first to seat everything before you tighten the stem bolts.
  16. HUH??? confused now... I have a SA Passport and an Italian Passport. So why on earth do I need this letter anyway? I am immigrating in July and have not heard about needing a letter from the High Commission? Sorry for the ignorance, but the last thing I need is hassels getting out. Your advice would really be appreciated.
  17. OOOHHH! Troubles in the little paradise!! Who is in the market for some "roids". This could elevate cycling to new heights, with bionic men in tights
  18. YESSSSSSSSSSSSS PLEASSSSSSSSEEEEEE
  19. Looked at these, very good value for money and they are large. Emirates does not see my bicycle as sporting goods and wants to charge me R600 p/kg Costs more than our tickets . I am also looking at the Thule bike case, similar, but maybe a bit smaller. Trying to get Airfreight quotes, but there are HUNDREDS of companies out there When I get a price on the Thule, I will let you know
  20. I am pretty partial to the Knysna Road Race. Beautiful part of the country and a nice rolling ride with a "tester" of a climb at the halfway point
  21. Hi Hubbers. So, in a few months time, I am leaving our beautiful shores. Taking my magic steed with, but sending it prior to my flight. Question I have is this.... What is the best way to pack my bike to get it to the UK with NO damage? Can anyone recomend a decent bike bag / hardcase? Anyone with some experience with Airfreight options, or know of a reputable yet cost effective company that I can send my beloved bike with? ANY advice would be greatly appreciated.
  22. Handlbar Palsy? I had the same problem. Turned out my bike setup was slightly off and I was "squashing" the nerves in my hand. Pins and needles and numbness would ensue for about 2-3 days after a long ride. Have a look at your bike setup before you do anything rash, also, mabe look at the padding in yoru gloves.
  23. I think they probably would. It makes sense, easier to use and you can decanter before your ride. Takes up less space and cleaner for your clothes and more importantly, the environment
  24. Crikey.. Glad that you are OK! Good thing that you did raise here is this... ALWAYS be alert and aware of your surroundings... Good that you noticed no traffic, otherwise it could have ended VERY bady!! Lounge Lizzard, what can we do? We (cyclists) are like little moving targets for these thugs. In my opionion, avoid as much as possible, cause this problem is NOT going to go away. Once again, sorry to hear about your incident, but thank God that you are OK
  25. I know, going to be doing some serious investing in some good padding when I ge there. Fly out on the 9th of July That is some NASTY riding.. You are going to be EVEN stronger next season.... shame to all the others trying to suck your wheel
