  1. Hmmm, making things hard here . If money was no issue, and it's purely for SD, I would then go for the Spyderco Civilian. One mean looking monster!!
  2. Then I would rather go for the Keramin or some other lightweight Karambit, initially I thought the Karambit is a bit more of a gimmick than anything else but it seems to hold it's weight in the SD EDC groups. And as a utility it can be backed up by a Deejo folder, super lightweight so shouldn't be an issue with creating a heavy EDC setup.
  3. I think you should consider it's main use before buying. Personally I have (for the second time) the M16-01 (the smooth spear point), as a utility knife I do not like the tanto blade shape nor do I ever use the serrations. So a smooth even blade is my only option when it comes to my work knives, my CRTK and Spyderco Delica 4 are my 2 daily carry options which fulfill all my needs. If you primarily use it as a self defense weapon I do believe the tanto to be a better "stabby" option.
  4. Losing a CRKT is always painful!! I lost mine on a scuba dive, was a week of morning and then I just opted for a new one.
  5. Nice!! I have the previous version, awesome bikes indeed!!! Will swing by a shop tomorrow and have mine weighed and will let you know. Guessing it's around 12kg's
  6. That looks mean!!! Is that the new 2018 STR frame?
  7. Mine is due next year!! That is if I can make up my mind on what to do ito colour.
  8. I have a handlebar, headset and possibly a stem you can have. Issue is I'm located in Kyalami, GP. If you can arrange shipping you can have it.
  9. @AlanD, by no means is the Nespresso a great cup of coffee, however it beats instant coffee by miles IMO. I own a Nespresso machine, and probably have one every other day. I mix it up with the use of a french press. Taste and consistency the French takes the cake every time!! However convenience wise the Nespresso takes the prize everytime!! So for me it depends on my schedule which one I'll have. Are you still located in the UK or back in SA? UK, have a look at this post: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/food-and-drink/features/britains-30-best-coffee-shops/ SA: Loads of suppliers here so we'll need a bit more info regarding where in SA.

My GF had hers done at DaKota Lee, brilliant work!! And if (that's a massive IF) I ever decide on getting any it will be there. Have a look at their Instagram page https://www.instagram.com/dakotalee_southafrica/
  11. Yup, both my French and English do this. Here's a link I found when it happened for the first time: http://healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2012/12/03/reverse-sneezing.aspx I find that the English doesn't give two sheyts when it happens, life just goes on. And if that means that she was busy barking at the cat next door you'll hear the most odd rendition of a snort-sneeze-bark and possibly a fart or 2. As for the French, he takes it a bit more personal, doesn't stress out but he always looks for a cuddle right after it happened. So I just stroke him gently until it stops. *Edit spelling
  12. This thread is absolutely drool worthy!! And reading the last few pages just motivated me to go get another cup for the day. What do you guys do for coffee at work? I have my own office, which I can arrange as I wish. Thinking of getting a clever dripper for the office but still considering many many options!!!
  13. The more the merrier?
  14. Nope. It is broadcasted live on SuperSport, DSTV. However the entrance at Hooters is R100.00, or 5.90GBP at the current exchange
  15. So who will be watching and from where? I'n not a boxing fan, actually know nothing about it!! However this I believe (hope) will be something worth watching. So far the plan is to go to Hooters Fourways and watch it there.
  16. Ouch!! Hope she can be saved! Out of interest, how far was your seatpost into the frame?
  17. She's alive!!! Still a few changes to be made in the future, but here she is! First ride coming up this Saturday at BRB.
  18. Ahhh ok awesome thanx. Will give it a go over the weekend. Does removing the skin shorten the cooking period? My idea is to do the meat in the weber and the skin in the oven.
  19. When do you splash the water on the skin?
  20. Ooooh that is definitely a skill worth learning!! My basic recipe (this is subject to personal preferences) which feeds about 8 people: Size 4 pot, low- medium heat Brown 4-5 roughly chopped onions, I like mine in slithers the length of the onion about 2cm wide. If you are using lamb chops/neck chops I prefer browning it over the open fire (braai style) and seasoned with salt and pepper, then add to the pot. Add 1 bottle of dry red wine, open a second and poor a glass for yourself. Once the pot starts simmering start stirring every half a glass of wine, or 15-20 minutes. Let 3.5hours pass with the pot simmering nicely. By this time you should be well seasoned, and not handling sharp objects anymore so it is suggested that you pre-cut the vegetables. Add the sliced potatoes (or baby potatos if you are using those), let the pot cook for another 30 minutes. If the sauce does not cover the potatoes you can add some water to cover it all. Dissolve 1 tablespoon of mezina (or whatever the spelling is) together with a packet of brown onion soup with about 300ml of water Add the balance of the veggies, mushrooms, baby marrows, patty-pans, and carrots. Cook for another 30 mins Start the rice on the stove, and add some bread dough you bought from SPAR and rolled in balls on top of the potjie (on top of the veggies). The top of the veggies should just be covered in fluid at this time. Once the rice is done so is the dumplings. PS. Once you start adding the veggies DO NOT STIR!!! I however give the pot a good stir before I add the dough.. PSS. All times above are just indications and subject to change depending on wine levels.
  21. Unfortunately no pics as proof, however we made an epic potjie on Saturday!! Lamb, ever so slightly toasted on the open fire before slowly cooking (total of 5 hours from start to finish) in a red wine sauce with some dumplings on top!! Mission for the coming weekend is a pork belly on the weber. Any advice?
  22. Technically a no speed at the moment, but she'll be a SS within the coming days... Here she is at the moment: Couch photo will be loaded once the initial build is complete.
  23. Almost pissed myself laughing when the dancing guy went over the bars!!!
  24. Good morning all. Necro post ftw!!! Anyhow, 6 years later and here we are. Last night I try seat new tires, and for the life of me I could not get it seated with my floor pump. Rim: I have no clue what brand; Tires: Vittoria Saguaro Sealant: Stans Eventually I give up and just pop it with a co2 bomb, insta-success!! Now here's my problem, now that I have co2 running around in my brand new tire with some sealant does it render the Stans useless? I know back in the dark ages it was not suggested, but has the formula been updated and improved yet? PS. The bomb blasted the pressure to 1.6bar whereafter I inflated with the floor pump to 3.5 bar to ensure decent fit and left it to stand over night. This morning I dropped the pressure to 2.2 bar. So by my broker assumption it should be about 50/50 air vs co2. *Some more info: The valve was at about 12'O clock with the tire being upright, so no direct blasting of CO2 into the Stans
  25. That looks like a whole lot of hurt if the front wheel comes to an abrupt stop!!
