  2. I use these from Sportsmans warehouse. Doesn't scratch the bike or dirty the wall. http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.co.za/individual-sports/cycling/equipment/accessories-3/art-of-storage-leonardo-single-bike-rack.html
  3. Looks like SLX with Elixir 1 brakes. I would buy an almost new/second hand/demo or 2011 for the same money with better specs myself. With 29ers being all the rage. Bargains abound for us 26" riders. I bought a brand new carbon 26er with XT/SLX and Fulcrum Red Metals 3's and tubeless tires for R16k. It is a hardtail though. http://www.bicycling.../spark-29-team/ Year: 2012 Category: MTB (All): MTB: Full Suspension: MTB: Full Suspension: Leisure Brand: Scott Model: Spark 29 Team Price: R16999.95 Frame Material: Alloy 6061 Double butted Hydroformed Tubes Fork: Rock Shock Recon Silver 29 RL - Solo Air 100mm Travel; Shock: DT Swiss M210 Wheelset: Alex XC-49 Disc Components: Shimano SLX/ Shimano SLX/ Shimano Deore 30spd/ Shimano FC-M522/ Avid Elixir 1
  4. Surely this poll will be biased towards the limited range offered by most LBS's. Most shops keep Maxxis and Conti's, maybe some Geax. Lots of new bikes come with Schwalbes so I'm guessing lotsa votes for them too.
  5. I use the descaling tablets in the water tank now and again to get that cleaned up. The cleaning tablets mentioned go into the coffee compartment and clean that part of the system. I am not sure if these products are suitable for your specific machine though. Cleaning Tablets Per pack 10 tablets R61.40 R70.00 Descaling Tablets Per pack 10 tablets R96.49 R110.00 Water Filter Per item R127.19 R145.00 Available here: http://www.sprada.co...-price-list.php
  6. I like a convert. Enjoy the real coffee!
  7. I usually use the Woolies organic coffee beans @ R165/kg. Gives me probably 5 cups of coffee a day for a month. Add the cost of the Sprada, probably R8k, and over 3 years I pay R14k to your R55k. My machine is 6 years old and going strong. .. and the coffee is freshly ground. And no, I don't work for Sprada. http://www.sprada.co.za/
  8. I bought a Sprada 5 or 6 years ago. I have made thousands of cups of coffee and it has never skipped a beat. It is a bean to cup machine. You can have a great time trying various beans. I'm not into being stuck into Nespressos pods. Also don't trust what's in those pods. Its preground and probably full of chemicals.
  9. I use metal. Apparently the resin or organic ones brake harder but dont last. Riding in the wet they can last as little as a couple of hours.

  11. It's not an illegal bike carrier. You just can't obscure your number plate. Fairly obvious I would think. My LBS has a warning sign in their shop. I always make sure my plate is visible. Cops love this easy money.

  14. Inside job for sure. I would get the security company to do a polygraph on the guards. They know what happened and are probably in on the deal. I have a friend who is a cop. He rekons 9/10 robberies are inside jobs. Hope you get your bikes back boet.

  17. Can someone explain how this works? What are the rules? Seems bizarre.
  18. Thanks. Not too bad for a handmade saddle. Pity they don't have the style of an Italian saddle, if you're into that kind of thing.
  19. I've never seen the CC's available in a shop. I've seen the Geax range at Mikes Bikes in Greenside, Northcliff Cycles and Solomons in Woodmead. Call before you go. Solomons would probably be the cheapest, then Northcliff then Mikes. Northcliff probably has the best range of stuff to drool over. http://mikesbikes.co.za/contact.html http://www.northcliffcycles.co.za/cms.php?id_cms=9 http://www.solomonsonline.co.za/index.php?main_page=contact_us&zenid=4748ec592e1900e401cae9ba2ab6c209
  20. MMmmm ... those Monorails look interesting. I live a few km's from the spruit so do spend sometime on the tar. Sometimes I don't even get to the spruit and just mess about on streets and pavemants.
  21. Thanks, that makes sense. I ride hard single track and jeep track and avoid the technical stuff and high speed cornering so higher will be a bit better suited to me.
  22. What are the benefits of running the lower pressure? I have tried lower pressures and it feels slower and less "sure footed".
  23. I run my tires at 2.5ish and have never had an issue. I'm also not the most aggressive rider and will usually take the route less technical.
  24. Ja and thanks for your input. I was worried about getting the tire to seat but it's much easier than I thought!
  25. I did take the tire off and found no evidence of any punctures, thorns, cuts or suchlike. More here: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/115580-noob-changes-sealant/
