  1. Trek Fan was referring to your subject line ????
  2. The axis looks like a great deal! If you don't care much for riding a big brand. Is Axis a probike brand?, looks like the same owner.
  3. Rode this morning out to summerveld and back to giba, finishing off with the blue route. Riding the one section in reverse is bit of waste of an awesome downhill though but does link up nicely with the waterfall route. Might be an idea to reverse that entire route. Other than that the trails are in superb condition, absolute pleasure ridding there!
  4. just read the story... my condolences! hope you find a replacement soon
  5. What happened to your frame... Why would move to those clown wheels now? ????
  6. How much?
  7. Nice looking bike. Tried their website but it's not up, silly to advertise it!
  8. That GT Aggressor looks amazing with raw alu & polished up like that. I am def gonna go the same route on my '08 GT frame, looking very tired at the moment from years of abuse!
  9. What is the retail price of 1200D, the 3000D is really nice but way too expensive!
  10. I really don't like the new logo. Using chainrings for a mountain bike logo does not seem that creative or unique for an event like the epic. I feel the original logo had a lot more soul and originality, something that had been hand crafted and not churned out by a large design agency. Very disappointing indeed.
  11. Totally agree, thinking back I had a great time out there... the Ark was a really good test at the end! Man I was hurting all the way home from then on. Had to laugh at a guy on his 29er struggling all the way down the switch backs at the end, go 26ers!!!
  12. How much is this bad boy?
  13. Also suffered major headaches after long rides, was all down to dehydration. Use muscle science or usn and now I can ride for hours and hours
  14. You can phone the guys at republic sports, they do group rides on sat... http://www.republicadventure.com/
  15. Thanks for the advice guys, will replace them ASAP. Don't want to pay hosital bills if they fail. I see CWS is running a special on 26er crossmarks.
  16. I think i have a similar problem with bubbles forming on my crossmarks. Used stans to seal them, the one bubble is level with tread. Should I change the tire immediately? They are super expensive to replace so don't want change too hastily. What should I use to seal my tires next time?
  17. try cyclesphere in durban, sure they could courier it to you
  18. Funny enough my shimano deore hubs have never been serviced, ridden for 2/3 years before upgrading.
  19. Same problem with my American classics, had to cough up R500 to replace all 4 bearings. but I did +-2000ks on them &lots of hard ridding. Need to learn how service|\replace them myself
  20. Sounds like fun, I stay in glenwood so not too far for me.
  21. Wheels! Got a pair of American Classics off the hub for 3500. Best upgrade i ever made.
  22. hmmm, just read this not after forking out R110 a bearing. They are custom sealed bearings from bearing man. Lesson learnt need to source my own bearings next time. wheels feel great though.
  23. My 26er ACs totally disengaged last weekend 5ks into the ride, sounded like one of bearings exploded in the freewheel. Had the LBS replace all of them, going to cost be R500 with labour! Ouch. Hopefully I dont need to change them too often. Other than that they are amazingly strong wheels! How often should I be servicing the freewheel so I can avoid any future issues?
  24. Had a look at the site, great value for money. Hard tail 29er goes for the same price as the XMS. Would be best to test a 29er before you commit. Bought all my bikes second hand and you tend to get a better deal, but if I had the money I would buy new. If you buying second hand make sure the size is right!
