  1. I enjoy melville quite a lot. which line do you take down the koppie? the line i used to take has become properly eroded.
  2. its straight off the edge but i think you could easily build it up into something. its actually into the braamfontein spruit. if you cycle up the spruit from fratelli's its on your left hand side.
  3. I really enjoy playing around at the alberts farm park. nice little up hill with a really fun quite long Downhill (the satellite image does not do it justice). Gradient is not too ridiculous but i still have an absolute jol there. Could do with some jumps however.
  4. Its a termite mound officer!
  5. my freeride/AM dog (150mm of travel) mountain dog did 12 foot forward flip into the river while chasing a hadeda just below delt park. (kinda near the bit where the gap jump by the willow tree is) the water is pretty deep there, doesn't look too mank. Maybe check that out?
  6. I have had nothing but good vibes from miway! both bikes stolen, replacements found no problem. I did not like the replacements that they could get from their approved suppliers and so they just gave me the value of the bikes cash! House got broken into, replaced everything no questions asked. Maybe you just have a useless guy helping you?
  7. So after a seriously wet dirtjump session yesterday my 5.10's look like nthey have been hauled through a cows digestive tract. can i just hurl them in the washing machine?
  8. Hang on...... How much did you say you wanted for it? Does that include rear shock?
  9. were you having a beer at the jolly roger on sunday? I am sure i saw that bike on a bikerack outside.
  10. the left hand line is all tabletops except for the last which is a rollable double. I will let you know by wednesday which day we are heading through. cheers dude!
  11. hey dude! why dont you join us at the mtn bikepark for some jumping? I have one slightly stuffed mongoose fireball (bent crank arm) but it still jumps fine. was planning on going with a buddy on thursday afternoon or the weekend as he also wants to give this thing a bash. let me know.
  12. I think my nuts just retracted to somewhere near my spleen.... that looked painful.
  13. Its not a groenkloof story. but still pretty good! I was staying at a very small game reserve in KZN near stanger 2 years ago when this happened...... the idiotic landowners had stocked the place with over 30 ostrich. of which only 2 were female (apparently male ostriches look prettier)! it was breeding season, so needless to say the boy ostriches were very aggressive and frustrated. one poor honeymoon couple were cycling along this road that went along halfway up a very steep hillside when they were attacked by the male ostrich. valiant husband ran away to a handy bush and his poor wife got attacked! the ostrich kicked her viciously, breaking her leg and her arm and cutting her badly, she then curled up into a foetal position to protect herself whereupon the ostrich sat on her! Distraught husband, having finally got the balls to get out of the bush and go back to look for his wife could not find her anywhere so he went back to the lodge to mount a search team, assuming that she had also run away and was now lost in the bush. they searched for about 2 hours before anyone thought to look under the male ostrich! I cant imagine what that was like for that poor woman....
  14. Ah. makes a whole lot of sense to rather buy a complete wheelset then and sell the current wheelset as an ultra light XC orientated wheelset. thanks for saving me a lot of pain and torment.
  15. Is it better to order pre-built wheels? or is simply ordering the rims and then ripping apart my current wheelset and putting better rims on an option? (currently have a DT swiss wheelset which is notorious for buckling, Am just waiting for it to die)
  16. Ah ok. I couldn't tell from the original sale pic what fork it was. If it was a 150mm fork and you weren't using it cos you got the sweet talas i would have totally gone for it. Oh well. Glad you are having much fun on it!
  17. Damn those are the perfect colour! where did you order them from?
  18. Hmmm. Pretty...... thats not the fork that was sold with the frame is it? what was that fork and what are your plans for it?
  19. Holy crap dude! you got screwed! some bastard took your rotors! Quick! dont ride your bike! you will die!
  20. heh. thanks dude. now to whip out the old credit card and get ordering.
  21. Hah. perfect justification! and just use the current shifter? (remember not to change to the non existent bigring.)
  22. Just trying to be cheap.... the middle ring on my bike is a 32 which If i pedal at flat out on my favourite downhill does not get me excited. I usually go to bigring for that. Buuut if i have a 36 tooth at the front that would probably solve that issue quite nicely. Hmmm. Happy very early christmas to me....
  23. thanks dude. Have been wondering about what the advantages are for doing just that. I am sick of losing the chain on my trail/AM bike. can I fit a chain tensioner to a 3X9?
  24. what size chainring do most of you guys use in the front?
  25. heh ok so i had better make sure i got some money at that point! was busy glaring at my bank account when you bought the intense!
