  1. Hey all. the rear brake on bike is binding slightly. just enough to be super annoying. I know how to adjust pad contact but the problem is that it is only one pad which is binding against the rotor. does anyone know how to adjust the pad contact for the pad that is closest to the wheel on Juicy ultimate 7's? Cheers Hayden
  2. I am so bleak that mine got stolen. they were called freerider scribbles and were actually more like the barons. nice stiff leather upper with extra toe protection. needless to say if anyone see's someone walking around in a white pair of freeriders around diepsloot please drive over them and return me my shoes!
  3. www.mountainmailorder.co.za has freeriders in stock at present. about the same price as diald.
  4. question is..... where in joburg could you pull it off? wits? westcliff? northcliff?
  5. That being said, ( I know no one on this forum would dream of doing it) there is nothing on the planet more irritating than 5 guys cycling abreast and taking up the enitre road. then its impossible for me to leave a 1.5 m gap cos i would be off the road on the other side! Single file is a good thing too!
  6. what fork does your one have?
  7. Wow. I had forgotten about that vid. funny how some of the hurlingham jumps seem to have grown a bit with age.
  8. Yeah you need carbs. Just not refined ones! i think thats where the stigma comes from. Carbs = white bread to most people....
  9. Please do!
  10. Have you done the maths on your energy balance? Kilojoules in > Kilojoules burn't = Fat. there are charts and you can calculate what your base level of energy requirements are. then you can use heart rate etc to really define your training program/ lifestyle. Training in the evening also helps. I go bouldering at the local climbing gym after supper and the endorphin rush pretty much gets rid of any munchies.
  11. or you could eat half your supper at 6 and the other half at 9....
  12. what is a typical supper for you? If you eat low GI slow energy release foods you will not get hungry as your body will be processing them for most of the night. uncooked barley would probably be your best bet! that being said. managing your glycemic index is tricky (esp if your wife is doing the cooking for the kids. they tend not to like uncooked oats and barley...) Protein is all well and good but remember that protein shakes are also full of kilojoules and is digested pretty quickly. Slow energy release is my answer for surviving midnight munchies.
  13. Hey dude! I own one. I love the frame but hate the componentry. I find that the Sram X4 shifters are pretty awful in that they hop out of gear when you land (maybe i am just too heavy on the bike) the RST dirt fork is a bit flexy in the front for me. Oh yeah and the Stock pedals are terrible. My game plan is to singlespeed it, replace pedals and get a better fork (rockshox argyle perhaps...) In terms of other bikes that are available, GT Chucker, GT ruckus, Mongoose ritual, Giant STP (Niiiiiice!) Giant Brass (will survive nuclear apocalypse. not great to ride however......) and scott voltage. Also, commencal Absolute, DMR reptiod, dartmoor two6player. Check out http://dialdbikes.co.za/bikes/mountain-bikes/ http://www.obike.co.za/Products/ProductsList.aspx http://www.buycycle.co.za/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=2130 and obviously Chain reaction cycles. If there is a jump session at the scout hall tomorrow you can come and give mine a try if you want.
  14. Ah. No bridge would def affect stiffness, however i see the emerald does have one....
  15. aren't most motocross forks inverted forks? I also dont understand how turning it upsite down affects the stiffness?
  16. hmmm and apparently there have been no clinical trials to test whether or not giving HGH to old people is a good idea. and synthetic hgh was only invented in the mid 80's which is not a long time ago in terms of testing long term effects. Me. I dont like the idea of messing with very complex biological feedback systems that are not fully understood by science.
  17. heh. Have been doing some reading about synthetic HGH (synthetic as i am sure non of us feel like raiding corpses for their pituitary glands.....) here are some fun side effects! cold hands and feet confusion Rectal bleeding! (shudder) Constipation bone pain. Might be best just to grow old with dignity. or go out in style. also, interesting aside is that if you type synthetic HGH into a google search the first two things that crop up are its bad side effects. maybe this means something. Not sure.%
  18. Poor Snake! Did they kill it or rescue it?
  19. or (dont tell anyone a said this) try cajees. I got my Giro from there. Or get a skater helmet? as far as i recall the skate park at bright water commons has some nice ones.
  20. so lets do it! over the river from the scout hall is quite nice cos its off the beaten track. bring a spade every friday. jump a bit and then build a bit. could get awesome very quickly.
  21. what is this goodrich hose upgrade? I have some juicy 7's on the AM bike and was wondering if it was possible to make them better.
  22. you working at the ashanti vaal reef mine? the main prob is that a bunch of the trails around there are on mine property and the security gets rather grumpy if you ride out there!
  23. So Here is mine. so fikkin smooth! whats yours?
  24. okay. possibly the same line i ride. Very Rocky! went otb.....
  25. Did you ever come right finding Cro-moly tubing? Also, General Question. how thick are most cro-mo tubes on heavy hitting Hardtails (i.e. Dirt jump bikes) thanks hey.
