  1. Brilliant pictures of the meat, however, like the old Bosnian saying goes "light beer is the first step towards an inflatable girlfriend"
  2. Turning the tables like a BOSS
  3. I sat down for a very important business dinner with a supplier, their chef prepared a baked avo and tuna starter. My immediate reaction was utter disgust (avo was not something I thought would be good cooked), I kept a straight face and because good manners dictate not to spit someone's offerings on the floor I ate my starter. Flippin amzing taste and apart from a slight change in texture, avo is one of the few fruits that goes down really well with high heat cooking. Turned out to be the highlight of the dinner that avo

  5. Sunday afternoon, these were netted on Sunday morning Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I'm a NB fanboy, ran in a pair of Leadville 1210V2's road and trail, got 1136km's out that pair...you're spot on if that's your choice
  7. Check Salomon.co.za, they also selling really good shoes at 50% at the moment
  8. Andrew, please hear me out about these shoes; I bought the exact same pair two weeks ago, read the reviews, they list these shoes as tight amd staying so. It was my experience with them that they were incredibly uncomfortable, being very tight across the forefoot. After 75km's in them I gave up and bought the Kanadia's. What I did like about them were; super stable, super grippy and very airy. I could feel the cold air rush through the shoe as I ran. However, if I was you, go to a shop and pre-fit them first, they seem slightly cramped. As a reference, I also bought a pair of Boost 9's, which fitted like a glove no issues. These are trail shoes, you should trail fit a pair first
  9. Was the topic of a recent braai - what happened, you don't invite people for dinner and then make them cook their own food? times have changed
  10. 3 times a week; Wednesday midweek braai = boerrie, smoked cheesewors or the odd pork banger all ending up in a roll Friday night braai - anything meaty with a side or two Saturday/Sunday braai = the big one with pap, sous en ander "bykossies" Living on the coast everyday is good for a braai so only excuse not to braai is death or severe illness
  11. I can't recommend a running coach, but runnersworld.co.za has marathon training programs which are easy to follow, you can download according to time left to your marathon and or fitness level. Very helpful stuff there. Your local running club is also probably a good place to join for the knowledge and assistance from experienced runners
  12. PFW = Plaaslike fiets winkel ...maar nou is hulle 'n fietsboks
  13. What Barry said...The Kanadia 8's are affordable, good quality for the occasional bush-bash. Your run of the mill road shoe doesn't have a strong enough under fore foot, so you'll get poked and prodded by little stones jutting up. Also the "side walls" are broader giving more foot stability.

  15. That's right, he also changed the deck layout so he could wedge himself between a deck-pod and the gunwales so he could sleep without falling off the boat. I have a picture of the boat the morning after he arrived in Richards Bay with sails sill hanging off the boom un-stowed, will scan and post. Best of all, he grew up in the Free State!!!
  16. I'm not in the market for a lathe but if I was a Nova would be in the top 2!
  17. Impressive. Few people know that the first open boat circumnav of the globe was done by South African Ant Stewart in a Dudley Dix designed 19' Cape Henry. He still lives in Cape Town. https://youtu.be/1QkZN35RZfU
  18. Dis juis sy punt, ons almal braai groente...

  22. As enige iemand ooit groente op my braai gooi sal ek maar ook die vraag moet vra..."is jy 'n vegetariƫr omdat jy plante haat of omdat jy vleis haat?"
  23. I know exactly how you feel about them, I have similar love for spoke shaves and block planes. All cool G
