  1. Correct. I am now busy getting things together for a 29'er HT for my wife. Could to be the hottest 29er you've seen. I know that Black Spade and a few others are doing allot of work to build their brands, but it all comes down to this. Its a Chinese frame with decals on. You can get that frame from 10 different factories. Most factories in China will slap whatever you want on the frame for $5 more. I ride a 29'er Chinarello, my mate as well, ALL his road bikes are Chinarello. Another mate's as well, 1st mate's GF, and another mate has two, and another one. And soon my wife as well. The tide has turned.
  2. Good, old school 71/73 between headtube and seattube. Its been the standard since real MTB's came out.
  3. What a way to spoil your first post. Ouch.
  4. Know EXACTLY what you mean.
  5. Don't lie. You track her to make sure she doesn't stop at the ex-boyfriend's house...
  6. Looks pretty cheap as well.
  7. Coincidentally I foud this on Alibaba last night (my favourite Chinese "eBay"). http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/496021131/Advanced_tiny_gps_personal_tracker_for.html Basically, A very small, light weight GPS in which you put a sim card. Whoever wants your location then just calls the number of the SIM inside the GPS, and the GPS sends an SMS back to the caller with your GPS coordinates, current speed and what nots. If the phone is a relatively new phone, you can click the link in the SMS and see where the person is on a map. Pretty nifty I think.
  8. What you propose then? Drive over the cyclist? He has the same right to be on the road as a car. Cyclists keep left as courtesy. If it wasn't as dangerous, we would ride in the middle of the road and it would be our right. If that cyclist was a broken down or busted car or a donkey cart, motorists would sit behind them for as long as it took and then pass without much of a fuss. But God forbid a cyclist require a 1.5m gap as not to die.
  9. For what period of time will those cyclists / runners be across the road from each other? 5 seconds? 10 seconds tops maybe? Motorists can surely just ease off the petrol for those few seconds until the road is clear enough to maintain a 1.5m gap. If not, that's MOERSE selfish motorists.
  10. Go to a sports store and buy the stuff they stick onto cricket bats. Designed for hard knocks. Good stuff.
  11. He paved the way, here's hoping our current riders can step up to fill the massive gap he left. In 2016 he would have been Olympic champion, and I am sure XC World Champion at least twice.
  12. That is a dream of mine right there. To bike the Great Wall. Maybe ride out a week, and ride back a week. Backpacks, tent and food. Awesome.
  13. You get them...
  14. I've got through a bad patch with YBN chains... Sent then back to the factory in China and they sent me 5 new 10 speed chains as replacement. Yet to have problems. So ja, was probably a bad batch. The quick links on the new ones seem different than the dodgy chain's ones, so something must have changed.
  15. That's all you need right there buddy.
  16. Look, I jump traffic lights when I am in a big bunch. When I ride alone I stop. Because, I know that the logistics involved in getting 100 guys to stop on a dime and not getting someone's ZIPP Carbon up my buttcrack is nearly impossible. NO cyclist is going to race across a busy intersection and cause havoc for traffic. Even in bunches when intersections are busy, the guys slow down allot and only roll over when safe to do so. If a car comes, the bunch splits in two to let the car come through and then the guys at the back just catch up again. For all intents and purposes, we are completely transparent on the road, not hindering motorists at all.
  17. That's ***. I have yet to hear of a cyclist causing CARS to hit each other (and not get killed themselves).
  18. Motorists will complain about the TWO cyclists that happen to ride side by side, but overlook the 2000 other cyclists that hug the shoulder and don't bother them at all. They won't go onto News24 and IOL and write letters about those 2000 "good" cyclists. Mofos, all of them. Like I said on there, for instance here in the Eastern Cape, cars will sit behind a donkey cart for as long as it takes, without hooting, and pass nice and wide when its safe. But God forbid a fat amazon in her Clio rolls up behind two bikes riding side by side, going FASTER and taking up LESS space than the donkey cart and she gets all pissy. WTF is wrong with people?!?
  19. I've been very vocal on that article at the bottom.
  20. Well he hasn't really said much of anything about it. Couldn't say I'd be interested to watch...
  21. I thought Oprah was done with talk shows...
  22. Clearly you again need to read what I said. No cyclist would run a busy intersection which would require cars dodging them. Intersections crossed are usually empty. Your horse seems a little high, mind that you dont fall off.
  23. Truth be told, yes it was in vain. Massive drive will be launched, foundations started etc, but nothing will really change (without proper backing from government - and PROPER punishment). Yes, lets be harsh on drunk drivers, and that's fine. Lets educate them and punish them if they hurt someone. That's dandy. The problem is not the drunk drivers of today. The problem is the drunk driver's 15 year old brother and sister sitting at home thinking how flipping cool and happening their older brother/sister is with the party life and clubbing etc, and who can't wait to hit the clubs themself. The ranks of drunk drivers get restocked each and every day. Slap the guy that killed Burry in jail..... and the taxi owner will hire another guy that bought his license somewhere. And so the cycle repeats itself.
  24. For the price of Assos, I would have expected them never to fail. And be bullerproof. I'll stay with my cheap, knock-off kit, thanks
  25. Neither does a cyclist jumping a red robot endanger anyone else. No cyclist would jump a red robot while knowingly endangering themselves or other road users.
