  1. What does this need to be able to work in a BB30 frame? http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=67199 This? http://enduroforkseals.com/id385.html Or is there something better? Would love to dump the anker BB30 adapter that's in there now.
  2. Creak it does. Was looking forward to changing the BB with a nice ceramic one but then found out that the GXP BB needs a 24/26mm axle, aka, Shimano. No ceramic BB for me then.
  3. Problem 1) Shimano don't make BB30 cranks. Problem 2) I use 180mm cranks. The only 180mm / 3 x 10 / BB30 crankset on earth is a SRAM X9 one from CRC @ R3200.
  4. Its not the rings that make a crankset 10sp, its the cranks and how they space the rings. I think.
  5. So my gears are starting to skip when I ride on bigring (I use 3x10) and halfway up the cassette (far from crosschaining). I know my bigring is getting a little worn out as I use it allot. My bike is a BB30 frame that's currently converted with (home made) adapters and bits of other old BB's to make the current Truvativ GXP Style crankset work. The crankset is a 2009 model that was meant for 9 speed. Not entirely sure, but I believe 9 speed cranksets to have chainrings that are sliiiiightly further spaced apart than with 10 speed. So, it can make for slightly delayed shifting. Speculating on that though. So the dilemma is this... Do I just replace the chainrings and carry on as is... ... Or dump the crankset and get a purpose built BB30 crankset? Getting the crankset will run about R2000 more expensive than just getting two chainrings. What's going to haunt me more, spending R2000 that's not entirely needed, or knowing that what I'm riding itsn't 100% right.
  6. You should look at similar IP addressses, and matching passwords...

  8. Dangerous tip to give to a 1st time rookie.
  9. Yes. Summit Bikes.
  10. Easy solution, loose weight
  11. Use http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/ to convert between GPS file formats.
  12. I thought only no-name brand, Chinese frames crack? Mind blown.
  13. When training, wear a buff over your mouth and nose. Just breaking that icy cold air from hitting the lungs goes a helluva long way to not "knock" the system.
  14. Does this now include SELLING of the fakes, or discussing them in general, like in the Chinese Carbon Thread.
  15. R35k? Flip guy, at least you should have not used the exact same cardboard box pose as what you find on Alibaba. My wife's "Chinalized" was propped up in exactly that same "photo booth" against the carboard boxes. If you going to scam someone, at least make an effort of it. That frame cost no more than R5500-R6000, delivered.
  16. The USA... they will democracy the *** out of you.
  17. The "extra medium", an all time classic. They were very fond of that race. We would always hook up with them in Willowmore, same as last year. I remember Colin giving me his (vrot) PowerBalance bracelet as he finally realized it was a gimmick, haha. The previous year we all sat and had a snack at a small roadside restaurant across the street from the old start/finish, the Lodge. I still expect him to pop out from behind a bush somewhere with his hands on his knees as he laughs about how he fooled all of us. We will be at his funeral at 3pm today.
  18. This kind of racing is fine for the front wheel, and the non-drive side of the rear wheel.
  19. Emery wheel, grind the bolts shorter. Have done it.
  20. I hit the road around 4:30 am and ride on the road in pretty remove areas. Rarely a car comes past, no-one around. I find it allot safer than riding in urban areas. If I see a silhouette walking on the road ahead of me, I take out my stun gun and go into possible fight mode untill I'm well past. Usually get home around 6:30 or so.
  21. Doesn't sound like the Brownlee brothers were there...
  22. Shocked to hear the news about Colin. What a good guy. Didn't expect that news... This morning when wife and I were cycling up Cape Road near St Albans an ambulance raced past us and a minute later another emergency vehicle. If only we knew they were on their way to help a friend. Condolences to his family. RIP friend.
  23. What a good mate. Unbelievable.
