  1. Can't wait for the day when cycling isn't about the brand you ride or wear. But seems this sport is equally about image and propping up self-esteem as it is about physical ability.
  2. I never said its "better". I said its cheap and the quality is awesome. As I told another Hubber that mailed me, start here: http://www.cycling-monton.com/ http://www.cyclingmonton.com/ http://www.monton-bicycling.com/ Once you have some designs you like, go hunt down the sellers on Alibaba.com
  3. Thanks for the review of cheap shoes. By the sound of things no-one on here except me has worn the "cheap Chinese crap", yet they choose to disrespect it. If that's the logic they use to justify the inflated prices... hmm....
  4. You've never ridden in the cheap crap. I've seen many bibs over many years. From 1 panels to plenty panels. These are the best I've ever seen. But, each to his own, if you are happy to pay R3000 that's cool. I'll just buy 10 pairs for that same price, and it'll last longer than the 1 expensive bib.
  5. Difference of opinion you say. Funny how the guys that overpay for stuff get all sour and ugly. Who are you to call my kit crap, because its not overpriced? I never disrespected your kit. Ag haai shame. Same mentality okes that bad-mouthed the Chinese Frames when that thread started, who are now the same guys importing them. Hey, I heard that if you buy this handbag, women actually shop faster and feel allot better about themselves!!! http://www.ihandbagpros.co/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/gucci_bag-696.jpg
  6. Not at all. I import all my clothing from China, proudly fakes. And its awesome. Thermal tops @ R230, Bibs & Shirt @ R350. I wear nothing else. If anyone thinks a R3k bib or R2k shirt is going to make them ride their bike faster, then go for it my son.
  7. Ok. So to match the rip-off entry fee, now you have the opportunity to buy rip-off clothing as well. Because nothing says moron quite like rubbing your naught on a R2999 chamois.

    I hate CRC

I understand, but my variant of said product is now on a "Limited Time Offer". f*ck*rs.
  9. I've been refreshing a certain's product page for literally WEEKS, waiting for that moment when it goes on special. The price did go down from its original price, but the other variant of the product was even cheaper so I was holding out for this one to drop as well. Never did. Luckily, a discount voucher drops into my Inbox. I use it and drop the product's price by about R250. Lekker, Buy. That was about a week ago. Look at the product again today, now the price is less than what it was WITH my discount coupon. Seems its never a good time to buy anything. Bastards.
  10. ........soooooooo, the only difference is the label?
  11. Difficult not to step into this one... Heard a story not too long ago about the "boss" of cycling development going into a bike shop (which I know well) and telling the owner that he wants to buy bikes for development. Obviously a load of bikes. He then went on to tell the shop owner that he wants him to inflate the prices and then they will split the profits. Bike shop told him to go get f*cked. Also, one thing I heard years back is that you qualify for development for the first 3 years of your cycling, then you are expected to self-sufficient and look after yourself cycling wise. I've seen the same guys "develop" for many, many more years now. Venture a guess why?

    CrAzY!!!

I'd love to see a Tour team kitted out in exclusively Chinese stuff. No name carbon bikes with the no-name wheels, etc. You can build a completely bike out of what you can find on Alibaba. And with that, Monton no-name clothing, alles. Their budget would probably be 1/10th of what it is now. Granted, I know the "big brands" "pay" the teams to use their stuff. Still, would be nice to see a Chinarello in the right hands stick it to a R60k Pina up a hill.
  19. Two words. Trans Baviaans.
  20. The one and only. Rode out to the tower and back. 112km from tar road back to the tar road. Will be doing it again in two weeks time.
  21. Awesome 112km MTB ride last Saturday with mates.
  22. If you got decent hubs to use, order some Chinese carbon rims and have your old hubs rebuilt with DT Revolution spokes. Rims should be in the 360g range, they are available.
  23. 15sp? 3x5? 2x7.5? 1x15?
