  1. well, Juan's been looking after our bikes since I failed to find satisfactory service from all the bike shops mentioned. He collects and delivers bikes at my house, while I am at work/travelling etc, so if he wanted to, by now he could have carried half my house away. He keeps his clients happy and take a huge amount of pride in his work, I am with Flex, will continue to support him and stay a fan. and theMac, youre a looser man........
  2. Ziegie, its not acceptable for cyclist to level such agression (if that was indeed the case) but perhaps you should also just ask your wife if she is very sure that she did not perhaps fail to see them, accidently cut them off or something and all they tried then to do was to explain to her through a closed window that she almost took them out - as oppposed to what she heard that they want to take her out??
  3. hello and welcome when i started i had the same questions, so I joined the hu\b and just sat back and read all the threads over a few days, i was sorted
  4. Juan the suppliers are nuts and hopefully you can get some sense into their heads over time. in the meantime please just keep at it because with many cyclist with little time and who have run out of patience with the crap service by the bike shops, youve really got a good thing going. The better the service the less price sensitive I get and if I have to pay a few bob more for a cable but know it will be installed properly it does the trick for me
  5. always been on shimano from the R400 ones to XTR, done many km's, dust, mud you name it, never a complaint, they just work
  6. did not even know of this airline
  7. okay i get your point, i will then ma drive the drive
  8. can you blame the blumin thief, awsome bike!
  9. well, nowadays some approvals for development require that the guys must upgrade the roads etc around the development so if the road is buggers why not make it conditional that Makro sort the road issues as part of the development, then its a win win for all. If they want people to get to their shop it is what they will have to do after all
  10. Not sure how much sense the location makes but I feel I drive too far right now to Makro and this will be closer for me, so I am cool with this
  11. the weather made havoc and it was clear the organisers worked their fingerprints away to make the route less mushy, hence I think the shorter route. Every race has its issues but in the end I had a really good time, thanks to people who are still prepared to put things like this together and despite the high cost of entry I dont think they make a fortune out of this, I dont see how one can do this for the money. Only thing I would say is get more bike wash facilities and somebody selling boeries while we hang around waiting for our bikes. I will be back next year if the organisers bother to run this again despite all the stupid bitching
  12. so the distance was 106km or somewhere there instead of 97ks and all they did was to reduce your average speed, thats bleak!
  13. snoek, bicycling .co.za have some very good training programmes at diffirent levels, go have a look may be a bit late to strat for the argus but still woth while following
  14. you can go and demo at tony impey cycles in bedfordview
  15. many many posts, just look under Northern farm they have also now introduced additional security measures
  16. now look as if the better half wants to goto the farm in the berg, which means high altitude training for me. Put me down as maybe, if weather is bad in the berg we will give the farm a miss and I then join the ride
  17. well i am going to struggle, tomorrows program is close to 3 hours, if i wake up at 4h30 best i can do is just a bit more than two hours then a big rush to get to the office but anyway will stick to it as good as i can
  18. Cyclesure's response to my querie regarding bicycle tracking devices "One of the tracking companies did develop a tracking device for us, but a stumble block at this stage to implement it successfully, is to develop a power source which will last a long time and which can be easily replaced. We will notify you as soon as a solution has been found." Ive also enquired from all the other tracking co's, will let you know what they say
