  1. dunno re raleigh...dont have a proper excuse really...just not keen on them... have a mate who has a Raleigh rd and mtb and swears by them...I guess i just know what i like/dont like
  2. thanks for the input all. I was told tektro brakes were cr@p and that i should change them (was never told it was gonna be R2500, i heard in the region of R800??? ) but if its really that insane, Ill save the cash for the skoens... Raleigh i cant do. it looks nice but uh...its a Raleigh (sorry I am a bike snob i will admit ) But specialized i will check out...and the ktm. thanks!!!
  3. Im in the textile industry. A 205g shirt is quite a heavy weight. To give you an idea, Mr P use (on a good day) 145g, and yes its a fact I print for them so i know. So a 160g upwards is generally very good for a t.shirt(woolies and edgars stock 160g upwards) It'll be single jersey so there wont be that much stretch (it wont be tight fitting like a boob tube or vest unless you have a fat gut lol) Nice designs...Id go for one of these for sure
  4. Ok, so the time is rapidly approaching for the first purchase of a road steed.*drumroll* My massive budget of 12K doesnt give me very many options and being new to anything road related i am not too sure of what to get. I do like the Trek Lexa SLX 2011 (being a huge Trek fan) but would upgrade the Tektro brakes to ultegra or dura ace asap..Im not too sure if there is a better bike to get though... am open to suggestions, so what do you guys think??? (this would be mainly a training bike for me - my main thing is mtb, just tired of wrecking my tires on the tar during the week)
  5. I have a 2010 Trek EX7 (cols actually look similar to this yrs EX6). It is THE MOST EPIC BIKE I HAVE EVER RIDDEN!!! I used to ride a Giant before that (hardtail) but when i shopped around i went Trek. One of the big drawcards for me was the lifetime warrantee on the frame. Had a mate with a Giant who cracked his frame and despite being told when he bought it that he had a 'lifetime warantee on the frame' after he cracked it, they told him the lifetime of a mtb is only 5 years. I know someone else who had his Trek for years and had the same problem and they swopped his frame for the latest one no questions asked. That alone makes me vote Trek. that said, i have 3 mates on giants (two of them duelys and both anthems) and they love them. So its a tough call. personally Im a Trek fan.
