  1. You mean 02:00 surely? Oh, and ... everyone and their dog or 'dag' ?
  2. Closed as of yesterday. Teak itself is closing down as a whole. Apparently they've been running a loss for sometime now and the directors took the decision to shut it down or "mothball" the place for now. May well be that someone buys into it or takes over, but for now unfortunately it will be closed. Was really sad riding around there yesterday, bridge sections have already been pulled up from the singletrack. Really was one of the top riding spots for Joburgers and there's some damn fine memorys from there. Really feel for the workers though, they're facing an uncertain future as well the guy's whose business it is. Hopefully the landowners will be able to turn it around another way.
  3. No worrie boytjie, sleep better ....
  4. http://www.probike.co.za/blogs/brandon/your-raleigh-warranty Most likely it wont be a warranty issue, but Robbie at probike is/was the product and brand manager for Raleigh at Probike: robbie@probike.co.za or on the PE Number (041) 404-8500 http://www.probike.co.za/contact-us More than likely it'll be a standard set of bearings you're after, Probike should be able to answer that though,
  5. Thanks duly noted ... No problem at all really, moved on long ago. As could be seen by my later reply. Not that I need to justify anything to you either, see. No seriously really like.
  6. Nice one ... posted this on http://www.facebook.com/groups/214081085295867/ and http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tread-Mountain-Biking-with-Soul/145596722190032 as well.
  7. See what you've started Hardegat, the yobbos are taking over. It's London riots all over The Hub now! .... Go deflate your tyres and say three hail Burrys.
  8. How about an intro "I'm hardegat and have a cycling addiction" ... Open ended as in exactly what it means, no particulars, just a rant. Nothing personal either, just an observation from my end as well. You'll also notice I did agree with you as well though and Dangle's is 100% correct about the ambassador bit. IF it was Shan Wilson though it would be incredibly surprising, not like him at all. One of the most approachable and friendly people around. Also annoyingly as hard as nails, beating people half his age (Not literally).
  9. Didn't see the footage yet, so can't really comment. Definitely *** style if thats how things played out. Mind you, by the same token just as *** to come onto a forum and make an open ended first post with a few personal digs to boot. Under a pseudonym nogal.
  10. No I don't think so, that's Wsquared/Motion Cycling. Who also do Cube and BMC as well as Ellsworth and Catlike.
  11. Could mean something like this .... http://www.nbrza.co.za/
  12. Used to be, another guy based in Natal now.
  13. Doubt theres a centralised database, but this could well be a goal of what Bicycle Safety has started. I'd imagine the closest would be data from the insurance groups, especially in terms of valuations. One good start would also be more support for a registry like http://www.nbrza.co.za/ So, serial number linked to microdot on components and accessories registered on a registry and insured, should go a long way in combating the issue of bike jacking and theft. Making the crime a lot less appealing for those unsavory pricks out there. Now if this could be offered as a package thing in one go, wow.
  14. 100% .... In fact the only real irony here is that whilst some take the time to anonymously post personal digs at Andrew about something that has nothing to do with the topic of bike jacking, Andrew put up a significant sum of cash to get things rolling for the hiring of a PI.
  15. No aggro at all, but what, people can't disagree and point out opposing points? Lest that's too "know it all" Then ironically make a remark like your last one of 'I told you so'. That's not a smug "know it all" in any way what so ever is it now. Seriously, if you actually did give a toss, get the info to support your theory and get involved. Unless the 'theory' is just a way to vent some form of angst or chip about the industry. No doubt there may well be some shops/individuals involved from within the cycle industry, but seriously doubt that it'd be on the scale you suggest.
  16. A theory without any substance, don't compare to Carte Blanche whereby they had already found a link in bikes being pushed across the border. In fact Intern's bike was recovered from Mozambique some time ago. So it's safe to say that it's as far from an assumption as possible. The scale of bikes being stolen, do you know the scale? Have you gathered ANY info to give your theory credence? All that can really be read is an allegation based on nothing other than "I think" and "If I" then the audacity to compare it to Carte Blanche.
  17. Gasp .... Good point though, mebber a link through to here then from FB would work. Either way though, reckon more folk do FB than Hubbing.
  18. Be sure to put this up on Bicycle Safety's FB page as well.
  19. Tomac Bikes - http://www.tomac.com/ John Tomac is a bit of a legend in mountain bike racing. A bit of info on the bike's namesake - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Tomac Two of the models are currently on test with Tread, the Supermatic above and the Flint 29er. I'd be VERY surprised if the Flint were to break. First impressions so far are a great attention to detail, build and spec.
  20. Ya, 100 rondt from 1000 individuals would definitely go helluva far.
  21. Microdot.
  22. I dont agree, in fact that itself can be a false security. Better to prepare accordingly. Have some kind of defensive preparation, know your route and understand the risks of any particular route. Personally feel that does more to mitigate risk, rather than riding in a group all the time on every ride.
  23. Good work there man Look forward to this picking up serious momentum now that the issue has been highlighted and raises some serious awareness about these crimes.
  24. It was an expose, which by all accounts was very well done for the time slot within the show, it was also the very first slot in Carte Blanche. Some of the questions above were also answered. If the momentum from this leads to a more in an in depth investigative piece, and stimulates greater police resources to map and collect data on bike jackings. Then more power to the cause and it's done exactly what an expose should do. Hope that doesn't come across as too snide for you, equally I do hope you give your input to Carte Blanche as a concerned cyclist.
