  1. "crank blades to the frame ripped through most of the lugs during pedaling the large blade is still intact proving that there was no hard knock to the crank itself" Yet in the pic the mounts that "ripped"/broken are the mounts for the big blade. It would also have helped to have the "intact" chainring in the pic as well. Sorry man, but the story doesn't match up. Will all the exaggeration and inconsistencies methinks you're talking porky pies.
  2. So far this seems to be very much right up there!
  3. And his coffee mug! SACRILEGE!
  4. Post pics of Ian's coveted Campag tool set! ... I know it's still there!
  5. Best bet would be to speak to Joanna at Action Photo www.actionphoto.net and explain the situation to her. The images do have a digital timestamp for that purpose, part of what AP offers.
  6. The reason would be a logical one, thousands of riders means thousands of images. Each image is sorted and indexed, then there's the uploading. The process is fairly labour intensive and can only be automated so much. Relax and go for a ride ... Thumbs up emoticonthingy
  7. You left out Richard Durant as well

  9. CSA's faults aside, mostly communication. The way I see it, the biggest problem is a break down in relations between the CSA, affiliates and clubs.
  10. Have been happy with CL for a while, the benefit you derive from a club though is dependent on if you take advantage of whats on offer. I don't really do the club rides thing, but often take advantage of the hospitality stuff they provide for members as well as some really great social events. Notably a function they had on one of the stages of le Tour and the social ride and cocktail evening with Team Bulls. So yeah if it suits you, cool. Both clubs are pretty good I hear As for controlling member, it's unfortunate but people do not always respect others and if it's one of the larger clubs it does compound the issue. Especially if the club marshall on a ride gets ignored/abused. Personally I don't expect the club to be responsible to enforce decency, the members are supposed adults, the onus is on them and generally clubs do what they can. I feel.
  11. I dunno, I think it was a combination of poor planning and Joburg attitude. Yes there was frustration and many people did not know what was going on because of poor communication. Still, it doesn't justify the following actions by motorists on the day - Playing chicken with a marshall bike - Spitting at the marshall bike - Swearing at the group - Intimidating a marshall by driving straight at him in the intersection - Mounting the sidewalk and knocking barriers Despite any kind of bad planning, organisation and communication before and during the event. It doesn't justify the above.
  12. Oi vey ....
  13. Nice one, clear signage and unobtrusive. Good work there guys!
  14. Feel you pain man, glad you're alright otherwise. Heal up chop chop. Hope the motorist gets dealt with proper, these things happen, but if he or she can't apologise or take responsibility then they must suffer the consequences. Vice versa too obviously.
  15. A lumberjack?
  16. You left out the part that an item like an iPad, laptop etc ... Have as much of an impact on the environment as any printed magazines as well. Digital will be eventually be the way forward though.
  17. Love that logo!
  18. That wuz moi then... nothing to do with proving anything, just interested to see what other designers would have conceptualised. Don't be so sensitive man ...
  19. Well stop shouting the odds and give us a few samples then Not blown away by the new logo either, although I can understand the reasoning behind it as Admin mentioned. At least those who have stuff with the old branding have a bit of Epic history.
  20. I just leave a little bit earlier and ride more of the Spruit, still nice and cool along there.
  21. So because you pay, you must be ass kissed? ... By your own admission you didn't follow it up, other than just asking the oke at the gate. Could just as easily have brushed off some of the glass at least and approached the people in charge afterwards, but god forbid there be any consideration.. Like you say, a little less crack a little more reality. http://www.tshwane.gov.za/Services/Nature%20Conservation/Pages/Groenkloof-Nature-Reserve.aspx Call 012 440 8316 or 012 341 5204 Fax: 012 341 0483 Email: davidb@tshwane.gov.za (management)
  22. Yeah read that, have always had a lot of respect for Mike. Arguably the best guy for the job, his heart has always been in it and he has a real love for the sport which grew under his tenure as MTB director. Glad to see him back, the org and the sport needs people with his integrity.

  25. One of the single biggest things I've felt is also the most obvious and simple one. Water, drink more water throughout the day.
