  1. Yeah, see it was on the Tread page as well ... https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tread-Mountain-Biking-with-Soul/145596722190032 https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1530451190
  2. Yaw exactly, went through the same issues when I wanted to replace mine. Guys on the shop floor where I worked then did it only as a favour in their off time, for the price of a couple of pizzas. Mind you, those pizzas cost nearly the same as ordering a new hangar
  3. From speaking with the GM of Teak on the last day, this is what I got from him. Teak was closed as a going concern, the trails were owned and maintained by someone else but on the land owned by Teak. Since Teak as a whole was running at a loss for 12 months, the board took the decision to close it as a going concern. Whether or not it opens in the near future is irrelevant right now, no one is there for access, maintaining the trails and all the bridges are gone. Since it's also private land, folk cant ride there as it raises the question of liability for the owners of the property. Unfortunate, was a really good place for riding.
  4. You will pay a lot more for an engineer/artisan to do that for you.
  5. Ride with one earpiece and throw the playlist to shuffle, so one track could be Koos Kombuis, Tiesto, Carl Craig, Placebo, Drum & Bass, Kings of Leon etc etc ... Not necessarily in that order either
  6. Well it's new owners, so nothing untoward about that, informing the client base of a change of hands.
  7. NICE ... briefly went through it. Difficult with the images and compression, but I like it, cant wait take a lie down and read it proper. Especially like the story on the Congo, and that parting shot... jeezars!
  8. Good on you man, shown some real character!
  9. Did you miss the part of the thread? Probike no longer does the Raleigh distribution, for a while now. Emotion Cycling is the new distributor. So why are they suddenly liable to sort out the warranty issue if they can't get the required Raleigh frame, they have tried to assist where they can by offering a discount on a Scott frame, Emotion Cycling is also helping out.
  10. This could go as viral as the 'Buck Norris' YouTube clip... thing is, does one really want their skid marked shammy going 'viral'
  11. And don't forget to floss! http://mcaaron.files.wordpress.com/2008/03/flossing.jpg
  12. Echo that. Looks like you're already maxed out on spacers, positive rise stem and high rise handlebars as it is.
  13. Momsen SL729 https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=230629940328076&set=a.230629903661413.55660.116359905088414&type=1&ref=nf
  14. Ryder Centauri, pumps out about 1000 lumen ... Might look weird on your bike though. See next year they're bringing the twinlight version, at the 2000 lumen mark.
  15. Not sure about that, look at the price points on the Scotts of late. Think it will put a lot of pressure on the current brands that are offering 'value for money'. End of the day it's a good thing, more competition will benefit us as consumers.
  16. So he's wrong or what then?
  17. If it's 29er, there isn't a UST X-King as yet.
  18. And Huffy ... When Wallmart eventually comes through.
  19. Ironically I'd say the Spruit is one of the safer routes. Join Bicycle Safety https://www.facebook.com/groups/214081085295867/ and/or follow them on twitter. They're always updating on hotspots, progress etc ....
  20. +1 ... A beaut for commuting as well oi reckon!
  21. Well no, they used corporate events as an analogy. Which is actually very true from that sense. Definitely agree though, a huge yuppie element has made itself part of the sport. Especially where stage events are concerned, stage events are by their very nature expensive to organise though and unfortunately end up being affordable mostly for yuppies and affluent types, unless you're lucky enough to score an entry. Should see equestrian sports, holy crap that's expensive! Saw top of the range boots at close to 8k .... Went with the girlfriend to a sale at Western Shoppe, bloody hell man it was like a feeding frenzy. Went and hugged my bike afterwards
  22. Yeah, mate at Woodmead Auto had a similar experience. Guy came in bluffing about some deal with Autotrader, one of the sales guys happened to be on the phone with Autotrader and was told it was a con, they knew nothing. They nabbed the guy, his phone rang and he passed it to one of the staff. Guy on the other end calmly said that they were to let his guy go, then proceeded to tell the staff member the names of some of the staff there and their coming and goings, as well as home addresses. Scary stuff.
  23. Great event, quality turnout of riders, good route. Love the venue, almost like a hobbit warren of tent/gazebo locations. Bloody great vibe and the storm just become part of the event's happenings. What with Jaggermeister being passed round and the prize giving being pelted with jelly babys and water bottles after a bad joke. Was great, well worth attending!
  24. Fraid I'll be out this eve, will stop and say meowzit on the way home though ....
  25. Maguras are purdy ....
