  1. Or Etc. etc?
  2. Haven't read the entire thread but there are a number of words that have been gritting my bones lately : saddle - seat rode - road break - brake peddle - pedal alot - a lot - allot personal - personnel On Campagnola post - check how one of the larger retailers in Pta spell Campagnolo all over their website... http://www.hotspotcycles.co.za/
  3. I cycle around London at present. Somehow I feel safer on the roads here than I did in Gautengeleng. Sure there are some motorists who display bad attitudes towards cyclists, but imo they are fewer than in SA. I try to ride responsibly and obey the traffic rules and I must say a smile and a wave goes a long way...
  4. Just take care boet! Africa is not the same as the Alps or Scotland...
  5. How the hell do you lower a headset? By cutting the fork blades I take it?
  6. Is that not the same frame, with different builds? I only saw this after I posted.Sorry, my bad Would get my R28k if I was looking...
  7. Gawenators Focus Izalco if its your size... Top end frame with internal cable routing (as ridden by Katusha team) SRAM Red and sweeet wheels. https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/18649-2010-focus-izalco/
  8. Pretty cool initiative...Good luck. These guys do 10x ultra distance back to back. i.e. 10 x (3.8km swim, 180 bike and 42.2km run)on 10 consecutive days... There is also a standard double IM - 7.6km swim, 360km bike and 84,4km run http://www.enduroman.com/ Strange lot these people...
  9. Never called them chavs at all, The MTB crowd over here are far more relaxed than the crowd over in SA and that is my point. They ride AM bikes and don't "race" marathons and XC stuff, like in SA. I think 29ers are aimed at XC and marathon riders, but I may be wrong. Sorry if I upset you, but in the regular crowd I mix with , they frown on clipless pedals and lycra...they don't ride 29ers. The question was how few 29ers are sold in Europe, and I stand by what I said (which is very similar to what you said) . I never called anyone a chav, I think you were being a tad sensitive here.
  10. Definitely the case on mud island. Anyone who says that times are tough in SA have no idea. There are fewer 29ers in the UK, because poms who get into cycling buy roadbikes (Cervelo, Specialized and Dogmas) The few MTBers you get ride AM bikes with flat pedals. They also wear hoodies and baggys. On the continent I guess MTBing is a bit smaller than road cycling, hence fewer 29ers.
  11. No, that is not an urban legend, but the weights are not £dropped" into the seat tube. They actually fit into the feame. Different weights for different wheelsets to always have the bike exactly 6,8kg http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/article/pro-bike-vincenzo-nibalis-liquigas-cannondale-supersix-evo-30367/ Edit:spelling
  12. and then Santa Cruzed off into the sunset
  13. Their availabilty should be rather suspicious too, it seems to be the case in the US and Europe?
  14. http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Scott-Spark-29-Pro-Mountain-Bike-2012-Full-Suspension-MTB_49163.htm These okes might ship to SA?
  15. Might be a bit more cash, but I can only agree that that is a healthy alternative. PS Can the alternative, i.e. second choice, be better than the first choice? I don't think that is allowed. How is availability of the SC?
  16. Jolly good show, BB . Love your work, and I think this is probably the only recourse. Fight fire with fire I say. Just be careful what you write out there in the public domain as we all know how people have been accused/arrested after incidents of self defence. And it seems News24 also get their information from the fountain of knowledge that is the 'ub.
  17. AFAIK the investment is held in Reinet Investments, therefore any shareholder in Reinet effectively owns a share in SRAM. Wow, have we derailed. Has the OP sorted out his issue yet? If not, just get in touch with JB or Hannes.
  18. n Goeie begrip het net n halwe woord nodig...
  19. Give that man a Bells. Just take it to Hannes, he will set it in a couple of minutes and you will not have to worry about it until SRAM Red Black/Blue/purple/yellow eventually gets Electronic or 11 speed, which might be a very long time.
  20. PM that other shop....
  21. R35k is a steal...If you don't buy it someone else will and you'll end up very upset with yourself. As fir the sizing, sounds weird but you could check the sizing calculator on www.competitivecyclist.com
  22. Dear Santa, May I have one of these please? http://reviews.mtbr.com/desalvo-custom-cycles-ti-hardtail
  23. No reason, just wondering...
  24. Zac, I know you are a talented youngster, and it seems like you ride quite a bit. How old are you, if you don't mind me asking? Of the two bibs you mention I'd go for Assos. The craft is good, but doubt it will last as long as the Assos. IMO that is where Assos sets itself apart, it lasts for ages. edited :spelling
