  1. Hi, you might want to look at getting it from the continent. Prices are often a fair bit better than here on the island...
  2. I stuck Elastoplast plaster on my bootlid (VW Polo) both sides where there may be contact - no damage whatsoever. Sometiems also stcuk tube/sponge in the brakcets so it didn't damage on the clips...
  3. Hê?
  4. But us cyclists are used to being shafted, so R1600 is a bargain
  5. This is pretty new from Intense (imagine the AC/DC in the background) http://www.bikeradar.com/news/article/intense-hard-eddie-sneak-peek-31494
  6. Do you mean horisontal? I am with you on everything else. Most of the Euro manufacturers measure seat tube, but the US guys seem to meausre seat tubes - there are exception though. I still dont get De Rosa measurements - a size 46 is about equal to 58 in ther brands if I understand correctly?
  7. Ride lots (on consecutive days) and enjoy it!
  8. Euro pricing is out - SA http://www.cameleonbike.com/uploads/documents/prijslijsten%20bikes/cannondale/2012/2012%20Cannondale%20prijslijst.pdf Scalpel 3 - €2500, SA should be pretty close to that.
  9. Have you considered a Scalpel 29er? http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/article/pro-bike-tim-johnsons-cannondale-scalpel-29-31252 Scalpel 1&2 is carbon, but there is a 3 and 4 in aluminium too.
  10. Some medical aids pay for prescription sunglasses anyway. Doubt it is a case of looking cool only... In fact Jules saved the aid a wad of cash, since they would have bought locallyat a much higher price. Or am I missing something?
  11. I used one from www.beginnertriathlete.com - free, which worked for me, but they are not very specific. You can upgrade your account and get tailored programmes Apparently the Don Fink programs are pretty good too, but you'll have to get his book then.
  12. Wilier Zero7 - claimed 799gram for the frame. BB386 bottom bracket - Crancks are probably made by FSA(?) but branded Wilier. Good thread on it on weightweenies.
  13. If you are going to fit a new shifter anywway, why couldn't you fit a 9s casette too? Then it will be 9s. Fitting a 8s to a 9sp casette will not work as the space between the cogs and "gear positions" of the shifter is different.
  14. USD2599 apparently, so expect R25-R30k? http://twentynineinches.com/2011/06/21/niner-bikes-announces-jet-9-rdo/
  15. The seatpost is there to hold the saddle and support the riders weight...
  16. Cycling does just about nothing for running fitness. No google searches - just experience. I ran a bit and cyceld a lot for Ironman training. I got : - beaten by my wife in a marathon 2 months before IM (she doesn't cycle, but runs 80km per week and has done so for the last 4-5 years) - beaten by the marathon in the IM. Running does definitely benefit cycling though, no research, just how I experienced it. Camerons - care to reveal your sources or paste links for soem bedtiem reading?
  17. CRC had a couple of Lynskeys on sale a while ago - and there was one with a lefty sepcific frame
  18. Who is the dude on the right? He looks very familiar? Sorry for the hijack...
  19. Should that not be Tallgirl? Very nice bike that...Was looking at one ealrier but settled on something more mainstream.
  20. Here we go : on page 917/918 http://www.sars.gov....sp?FileID=70078 Duties on bikes should be 15% - think you got a raw deal Eldron...
  21. Que? - Complete bikes are 15%
  22. They are quite popular in the UK, and they look great. Had a spin on an AMS120 a while ago and was truly impressed. There are agents in SA too, there is a shop in Centurion that posted here a while ago...
  23. Long shot is bit of an understatement - give Bruce Reyneke a call on 012 3621628. He might still have a couple of steel bikes hanging from the roof. (Definitely a couple of aluminium ones)
  24. Oh and another thing, I think the agents are the same people who bring on the Orca Triathlon kit, so almost any shop that sells those will be able to find out for you...
  25. Check this out... The new agents posted here a while ago - https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/42411-orbea-not-more/page__st__20__p__1406963__fromsearch__1#entry1406963 Good luck, and if you get them, buy two or three...
