  1. A colleague of mine recently did bcbikerace - google it. Awesome trails. He mentioned one section of singletrack was 38km long!
  2. I thought the RS800 range can be done at home. Unscrew the battery cap with a coin and replace battery. I did it with mine after being given that advice by a shop??
  3. Sure? Their phone number is +44 i.e. UK - I can give them a call if you want. I am in the UK? I did however find it a bit strange that prices were quoted in EUR. Usually these shops give prices in your local currency, so I would've expected GBP...
  4. Haven't no, but they seem pretty legit and not stupidly cheap like most scam sites...
  5. Shite! I have ordered a 2012 Scalpel 29er - now means I will have to sell it at like 50% off, cos I have to have the latest "thing" to match my white bibs...
  6. Early am sticky fingers Should have read butt ugly 2011 shirts. Disgusting burgundy coloured, synthetic Polo shirt with big ass writing all over it. Good for wearing around the house, so I suppose it serves its purpose well...
  7. That is what I believe to be a PR body shot and an uppercut that landed square on the jaw! Pity about the butt ubgle 2012 finishers shirts from IM.
  8. Have done so already buddy, she is in the Weapon of choice thread! Doing a quick tally, I dont have only Shimano on there Dura Ace Ultegra Sram Red Fizik FSA Most KCNC Continental Garmin Fork me, not a whole lot of Italian apart from the frame, fork, headset and Italian threads of the BB (not the BB itself, that is Sram GXP) Let us try and put this dumb "An Italian frame must have an Italian groupset" to rest, once and for all. I say try because a 100 years from now, some tjop will see a photo and comment "oooooh, you must have an Italian groupset on an Italian frame!"SAYS FREEKING WHO???? Back in the fifties, this dumb statement might have carried some merit, simply because when you bought an Italian frame in Italy, you had no other choice but Campy. The Japs or anyone else for that matter, haven't yet infiltrated the rest of the world with their exports at that stage. The story probably goes something like this. Many moons ago, a stupid Yank went over to enjoy the Mediterranean climate, fine cuisine and olive tanned lasses that this part of the world has to offer. While there, he fell in love with the sexy and curvaceous styling that only the Italians had on offer. He decided to purchase a bicycle frame, as a reminder of his experience to this beautiful part of the world. In the bike shop, the friendly Italian owner said in his best broken English "We put Campagnolo, yes?" Simply because he had nothing else to offer. Once back in US of A, the Yank quickly spread the word that the Italian bike shop owner told him expressively that Italian frames must only have Italian groupsets installed on them or the frame will break, the warranty will be void and your balls will fall off! Somewhat lost in translation ... and the rest of the world believed him! While I was busy installing my Non-Italian groupset, I expected that an Italian man called Mario, dressed in a Debonairs suite, to knock on my door any minute and say to me "No, No, No, you put Campy yes?" He would then proceeded to tell me that I have broken criminal laws on 7 different continents, left me with a brand new Campy Record groupset and a pizza, and disappear! Well that did not happen, I wake up every morning with my frame, free will and balls still in tact! I bought it, I own it, I ride it, I put whatever the hell I like on it and the rest of you can lick my chain So deep down you are still dreaming of a Record/Super Record group, no?
  9. This thread is useless without pics? Which Wilier? I am a traditionalist myself but even the stern Italians sell their bikes as complete bikes with Shimano/SRAM nowadays. As long as your rectify your errors at some point in the future...
  10. 8.23kg with SRM control unit though - That is Dogma territory - price and weight http://www.bikeradar.com/news/article/pro-bike-jeremiah-bishops-cannondale-flash-carbon-29er-32052

    Exteondo

It is actually ETXEONDO. A well know Spanish bran - they used to supply Liberty Seguros and Ttehn Euskaltel Euskadi teams over the years. Top quality gear, you will not be sorry I promise that! I have both the Raider and the Press (and some others) - they are top notch and very good value for money...
  12. Well Janneman might be interested...
  13. Would that mean I might struggle to get my Cannondale in Feb, after I asked for the delivery to be pushed back to Feb, and not Dec? Not in SA though...
  14. If someone filmed Yolande du Toit's crash with an impala at crater cruise it would be even better - she's hotter than Evan.
  15. You should not skid on your chamois!
  16. Possibly, but the surprise must be the Dogma, scoring pretty well (except for the weight issue, but can easily be built to 6,8kg). As for the Cannondales - the SS Hi Mod is said to be stiffer than the EVO as the EVO has some clever engineering making the reear more compliant (read flexy) to absorb road vibrations etc. Cannondale engineers claim it makes the bike faster, but some pros apparently prefer the stiffer SS HM. This is hearsay, but from a pretty reliable source. The SL4 is a very good bike I am sure, but does not stir the emotions, and ai - that headtube. (My opinion only)
  17. A number - a figure is what goes out the window with age
  18. Are you still sure its cheaper with the ZAR in freefall - it was around R12,60 to the GBP yesterday? I am SA bound tonight - getting 20% discount off my holiday budget
  19. You are about to step into the big trap that is the Cape Epic. Expensive training camps, new drivetrains, or bikes tyres. 6 sets of Assos kit, new white shoes and socks. Compression gear. All these "must haves", hey? If you want a new bike, then the Epic is fair excuse, but you don't have to get a new bike for the Epic - you might "need" one after the Epic though - the bikes do take quite a beating...
  20. Gay dudes can ride , but if they check out my legs or my lycra clad ass I will get upset... Exactly like girls seem to get upset when guys freewheel behind them
  21. So I cycle in London town 5 days a week, we have the same issues. Problem is this kid (he must have started cycling when he was about 2 weeks old as he seems to have years of experience and detailed knowledge of the law, but his babyface suggests otherwise) skips a red light and the motorists think - farking cyclist. One intersection later he may need to take evasive action to avoid me, but he is a bit fed up with cyclists in general, so he runs me over. I get injured, I am unhappy and did nothing wrong. If I knew this was the real story I would hunt the punkass down and give him a lecture :-) I have had this scenario relayed to me by a frustrated Lonodn cabbie, people think that - we stuff up by skipping red lights and drop our cycling mates in the process. Adriaan - please obey the rules of the road mate, gives you reason to moan about farm murders and hijackings...
  22. It was truly a most enjoyable weekend. Anyone who owns a roadbike should really try and spend time in the Dolomites at some point.
  23. Succed they did, fun I don't know so much. All I can say is people get very excited online. I have actually met Dangle at 2010 J2C and I thought him a very decent chap. If him and Tunariaan everget involved in a pissing contest, I know who I'll put my money on! I haven't met the tunariaan, but I'm pretty sure he is not a bad dude either. Good point on people should have more fun. Most people in SA are far too highly strung, and it shows. I had fun on my ride this am, and I had good laughs and bloody good coffee afterwards. As you were...
