  1. Every damn time i see that photo i walk to the freezer in the hope to find one right at the back from the good old days.
  2. Another attack on the Spruit this morning. Three female hikers attacked on the long concrete bridge behind Old Parks sports grounds (The long one over the spruit as you head towards Hurlingham from Fratellis) Appears to be the same group of three men. One with a gun and two with knives. Dressed in all black with black masks. Be extra careful guys. They operate all along the spruit from the looks of it. They were involved in the recent attacks in Delta Park, close to Rustenburg Road, and now Old Parks. I ******* hate these *****. I'm dying to ride the spruit again but I won't put my fiance at risk.
  3. Nothing wrong with a little girth. *thats what she said.
  4. Hey, my mind is still there. You obviously remember Toby, Morne, Pieter, Peter Bartie etc. We all used to ride street and trials together. I bought a couple of things from you when you were still based in that apartment complex close to the Holiday Inn I think.
  5. BMX Direct. I know this name.... If I remember correctly the brand originated in Bloemfontein about 20 years ago. I just can't remember the founders name.
  6. I spent R28750 on my entire trainer setup. This includes trainer, bike, pedals, HR strap, and a 27" iMac to run Sufferfest on. This also includes a 12 month Sufferfest subscription. Entire setup takes up about 2sqm in my study. This works for me because I don't feel safe on the road riding in the neighbourhoods and driving out to the cradle to train costs a bit in petrol and takes at least an hour to get there. I also don't trust them skinny wheels at speed The convenience of being able to knock out a ride before dinner every day is also a huge plus. Bad weather? No problem either. Also... how much is an upper entry / midrange road bike these days? R30k?
  7. Two bikes behind my sedan used to suck fuel a bit. Behind the Grand Vitara I don't really notice it. Could be the slower speed contributing to it as well. The big thing is the **** footbeds and the bounce on my current rack. I also had one of the wheel straps tear and the clip broke. Thank goodness I always carry cargo straps in the car.
  8. It shouldn't be a problem if you don't clamp the **** out of the top tube. The arms are just there to hold the bike upright and in place.
  9. Thank so much. My car chugs fuel so we stick to 110 anyways. Good to know.
  10. Exactly what I want to hear. Thank you.
  11. We already have an involuntary sharing scheme.
  12. More questions. For bigger tires like 2.3 to 2.6 does the "footbed" of the rack comfortably fit these sizes? Current rack doesn't and as a result my front wheel twists as soon as I exceed 100km/h How stable is the rack while in motion? My current rack bounces a little when the route gets rough.
  13. @OP did you email them or submit a support ticket through : https://www.ikhambi.co.za/warranty-return-request/
  14. Seems to handle 2 mountain bikes pretty well. Getting the saddles out of the way will be easy with dropper posts. I just want a rack that doesn't weight a metric ton and bounce around behind my car like my current one does. The price is very reasonable considering it is less that 10% of the value of what sits on top of it.
  15. Thanks so much. I believe we have that mutual contact at that one specific Volvo dealer. He was going to price one for me.
  16. Thank you. Would be great to access at least some of my boot from the outside instead of going in through the rear seats.
  17. Following. I’m in the market for one of these as well. How far does the tilt go down? My rear door opens sideways and my current rack renders it useless. I’m ok with the price. Some people commented in the past that you need to contact your local Volvo dealer and check pricing. Made by Thule but also cheaper?
  18. Try phoning them as well: 087 654 1940 I had a problem with my Kickr Core last year and it was replaced within a couple of days. Received excellent service.
  19. I stopped reading right about here... If you are in South Africa (hope not) you will know that the SA agents for Wahoo are without a doubt some of the most helpful people in the industry. Did you contact Ikhambi/Wahoo South Africa?
  20. Experience and credentials of the service center? What is offered? Full suspension rebuilds? Wheel builds? Which brands are supported? For example do you have experience in rebuilding VPP or DWLink suspension linkages?
  21. I was not in a good place. I couldn't make it up stairs without being way out of breath. Now I'm comfortable pushing out close to 50km rides with 900m of climbing. Average of 150km a week. Let me whip up a cup quickly with the Oatly Barista I just found in the pantry. I also have the Milklab Soy one recommended for coffee. Will see which is best. Thanks for the tips
  22. Diet made a huge difference (exercise just as much) I was over 6.4 on my total cholesterol. Got it down to 2.6. Doctor was blown away. Also got my glucose levels back to normal. Resting heart rate was in the high 90s. I was a total wreck and heading for disaster as 40 approached. Got my ass back in gear, shed a ton of weight and dropped my resting to the high 60s. I'm still 15kg over where I should be (25kg if BMI is anything to go by) but I'll get there over the next 6 months. My diet is mostly pescatarian at the moment. I can easily cut eggs from my diet and even the fish but dairy is my weakness. Milk makes up about 250ml a day for me. Tried this week to go exclusively onto soy milk and it ruined coffee for me completely. Id honestly rather do black coffee. Baby steps.
  23. Good to know. Thank you. I just reached an all time low on total cholesterol so I definitely have no intention of raising it.
