  1. You will most likely spend more on legal than new Di2 derailleurs will cost. I highly doubt a case like this will be won in court either. The court is most likely to find that that the latent defect is not serious enough to warrant rescission as the defect could be repaired relatively easily by replacing the parts as offered. Something to remember under CPA is that you have 6 month "warranty" on the purchase of goods. In this time the items needs to be repaired or replaced in order to ensure that the item purchased is fit for intended purchase. I went through this schlep with a vehicle purchase a couple of years ago. The outcome was to repair all problems and an extension of the factory maintenance plan. I eventually sold the car a year later. Total cost to the motorplan was just over R100000 in 11 months of ownership. Since the dealer was more than willing to repair every single problem I had the option for a refund wasn't entirely possible unless in good faith from the dealer. Who needs this headache? Months of stress and bull**** when you could simply get it repaired and have peace of mind that the first 6 months you have a warranty under CPA.
  2. Even the best in the business get things wrong. Get a second opinion. What do you have to lose? Imagine having a report from two of the best people in the business.
  3. It's not even Friday yet. Did you get a second opinion on what could have caused the damage to the derailleurs?
  4. Thanks. Managed to find everything I need Huge thanks to ridr and Chip
  5. Definitely something I'll go on the hunt for at the end of the three months of January. So far I managed to get a 710mm bar from ridr which made a huge difference. I already feel like the bike fits me a lot better. Hopefully I can stop aggravating the bicipital tendonitis in my left shoulder now.
  6. Thanks guys. Appreciate it. Sorted with Chip.
  7. Looking for a 700mm +- bar and 60mm to 80mm stem please. Something with a rise will be great. Converting my IDT from road to a more MTB setup. My shoulders can't deal with this road bar vibe.
  8. Shoot me PM or message me on o(ate)3 260 4159
  9. It's not perfect but I still trust it to hold up my Evil and the Specialized for trips from Jozi to Karkloof. It only has foot beds for two bikes but all three clamps are there. I also have the keys for it. Lights work and it tilts down just fine. In these trying times a sixer of craft beer or a couple of bottles of red wine would be fantastic. I'm not saying you should do it, and I'd like you to, but you shouldn't break the law. Trade offers for an mtb bar/stem combo and/or a 9spd shifter would be sweet. Otherwise take it for free. I'm based close to Norwood / Houghton in Johannesburg. Collection only please. *If you take it and sell it for a profit then you are a bad person
  10. Always offer help even if you don’t have the exact tool or spare the person needs. The moral support sometimes is enough to push you past the misery of breaking down. What you put out in the world will come back to you. I’ve seen it many times on the trails.
  11. Every damn time i see that photo i walk to the freezer in the hope to find one right at the back from the good old days.
  12. Another attack on the Spruit this morning. Three female hikers attacked on the long concrete bridge behind Old Parks sports grounds (The long one over the spruit as you head towards Hurlingham from Fratellis) Appears to be the same group of three men. One with a gun and two with knives. Dressed in all black with black masks. Be extra careful guys. They operate all along the spruit from the looks of it. They were involved in the recent attacks in Delta Park, close to Rustenburg Road, and now Old Parks. I ******* hate these *****. I'm dying to ride the spruit again but I won't put my fiance at risk.
  13. Nothing wrong with a little girth. *thats what she said.
  14. I was not in a good place. I couldn't make it up stairs without being way out of breath. Now I'm comfortable pushing out close to 50km rides with 900m of climbing. Average of 150km a week. Let me whip up a cup quickly with the Oatly Barista I just found in the pantry. I also have the Milklab Soy one recommended for coffee. Will see which is best. Thanks for the tips
  15. Diet made a huge difference (exercise just as much) I was over 6.4 on my total cholesterol. Got it down to 2.6. Doctor was blown away. Also got my glucose levels back to normal. Resting heart rate was in the high 90s. I was a total wreck and heading for disaster as 40 approached. Got my ass back in gear, shed a ton of weight and dropped my resting to the high 60s. I'm still 15kg over where I should be (25kg if BMI is anything to go by) but I'll get there over the next 6 months. My diet is mostly pescatarian at the moment. I can easily cut eggs from my diet and even the fish but dairy is my weakness. Milk makes up about 250ml a day for me. Tried this week to go exclusively onto soy milk and it ruined coffee for me completely. Id honestly rather do black coffee. Baby steps.
  16. Good to know. Thank you. I just reached an all time low on total cholesterol so I definitely have no intention of raising it.
  17. The good fat or bad fat?
  18. The Spez is almost twice the price too and when comparing them side-by-side I don’t see a much better product on the Specialized side. Maybe a better plating or coating but that is it. I’ll stick to my OneUp EDC though. Second pick would be to put the Lyne tool back on my bike.
  19. Agree 100%. My biggest win was cutting out the Red Bulls, chocolates, and pies. Before lockdown my daily routine at the office was a pepper steak pie, 3 cheese samoosas, and 2 Red Bulls. How I didn't die from that junk is beyond me. Now I have maybe 1 can a week. During that time my blood glucose and cholesterol were too high. Had a physical this morning and my cholesterol read in at 2.6mmol/L and glucose at 5.6. I'm definitely continuing with my current diet which is mostly vegetarian with the occasional chicken. Exercise can be more. Currently doing 150km / week over 10 hours on the bike. I don't like running but the last big loss (fat burn) was from running. Then I tore my ligaments while on a run and went back to the pies for comfort. I guess it is time to put the old purple running shoes back on.
  20. Why is bread so damn delicious? Bread is why I am nowhere near my goal weight yet. I'm proud of losing the 12kg I did from July to December but between December and now I've been stuck fluctuating between 103kg and 107kg.
  21. 14 as of this morning. ????????????
  22. Thank you for the offer sir. Another gent was kind enough to send it to me already.
  23. Good news. Stains are out. Soaked the shorts in a mix of sunlight liquid, washing detergent, and hot water. Then scrubbed in a paste made from Vanish powder with a stiff brush and let it sit for the required 5 minutes. Into the washing machine and out the other side 100% clean. Happy.
