  1. Following my initial thoughts, I also watched DC Rainmaker's review and there are some navigation elements that concern me. One doesn't want to be in the sticks with dodgy navigation, especially in unfamiliar territory, so I'll probably end up sticking with Garmin for now.
  2. I just came across the Coros Dura watching a Youtube bikepacking video. It claims to have 120 hours of battery life on a single charge, which can be extended with the solar option. It's a lot more cost effective than Garmin and gets really great reviews. My Garmin's battery is tired now and I'm not keen on Garmin forcing me to buy another unit when there's nothing wrong with my existing one (apart from the battery life)
  3. It may well be.. The bigger question for me is did anyone else read this in the deep voice of a narrator?
  4. I think you're right homie 😁 I stopped counting at 40. Nice hoodie. If it's any consolation, the kit that I got at that same Sani2C doesn't fit anymore either. But I hold onto it in hope 😅
  5. I never subscribed, so no yoga DVD 🙂. My cleanup did however uncover a 2008 Sani2C and a 2005 Sabie Experience DVD. I'm going to hang onto those and see if I can still watch them. I featured in one of them, so it'll be interesting to see young me riding down Nic's pass ☺️ Nice to know that Marianne Vos is still a legend (I'm out of touch)
  6. Hi all, Happy Monday. Thanks for enquiries, I'm surprised by the interest. The magazines have found a home 🙂
  7. I'm reviving this old thread for the same reason, although I see the OP didn't get much of a response. I have a stack of old magazines if anyone wants them. Bicycling, ride and tread dated 2005-2013. If nobody is interested then they'll go out with the recycling on Thursday. If you are interested, please drop me a DM
  8. Horse legs... who would've thought? It works well for breastfeeding moms too 😄
  9. Milking cream. Technically for cows but works like magic as bum cream.
  10. On the subject of people getting knocked down, I'm surprised to see that there has been no mention anywhere on the Hub of Andreas Probst. Sadly his knock down was fatal. The video is upsetting, so be warned if you do a google search. Not to detract from little girls getting shoved into the mud or anything. Oh, for what it's worth, I'm South African.
  11. I'm resurrecting this VERY old thread to find out what you all do with your old (but still usable) cycling shoes. I have a pair of MTB shoes which are still in decent enough condition to be used by someone, but not decent enough to sell. I'm reluctant to just toss them if someone can use them. Are there any development clubs in Joburg where one can hand down old shoes and kit?
  12. Very sad to see this news. Like most of the 'old' hub crowd I lost touch with Thug, only occasionally bumping into him along the spruit over the years. Such a gentleman. Condolences to his family and friends. RIP Thuggie
  13. I stand to be corrected, but I seem to recall @NotSoBigBen having a broken button on his Garmin and he 3D printed one to replace it.. worked a charm if I remember correctly?
