  1. Yes - sign up for Trainerroad for proper training programs, or if you into gaming you can use ZWIFT as well and then get a strava profile going and then link it to intervals.icu to analyze your progress. Sorted - No coach needed

    Transbaviaans 2022

So i entered a 3 man team + driver on Entry Ninja - wow what a cockup - the invoice and the amount it says each person must pay don't correspond the VAT is wrong and the person I'm corresponding with via email clearly just graduated from the university of stupid. so now I've removed the driver and the numbers seem to be corrected - question is how do we add a driver and pay the additional 250 ronds

My theory on road races - like for 105km race you should be doing 105 km training ride once a week for at least the last 4-5 wks before the race - that how we trained for ARGUS I suppose this is a different level and of course my first distance of this length, but the plan over and above normal training is to do at least 2 X 230km training rides before the event, at least your body will know what its in for on the day. its also about time in the saddle, training the body to cycle for longer periods than normal, my longest ride is 111km longest time in the saddle was 7 hrs so i want to train the body to do at least 15 hrs At least one of our team has done it before so we will need to be guided by his experience - Looking at the profile i think its easy to overcook the 1st half and end up bleeding through your eyes on the climbs and the finish.

I just entered the Repeat - this is the 3rd time I'm entering and hopefully will get to do it this time, both previous entries we had to sell due to some or other reason at the last moment. 2022 hopefully will be the year we get this monkey off our shoulders.
  7. All depends what other products you have that are linked for rewards If you have Life products with annual & 5 yearly paybacks then your vitality status has an effect on the amount you get paid back. this is the only reason I have it and stay on diamond. Everything else offered by vitality is just a scam to reduce their ensured risk. Of course if you be a super athlete then you can capitalize on all the free trinkets they offer for getting active because its a normal way of life for you. But be that guy who likes to ride his bike once a week maybe got to gym 4 times a month and run the dog around the block twice a week and you go for an Apple watch, your off to athlete jail and if you want to get out you will pay and pay dearly.
  8. This could be purely coincidental - but hey you never know

  15. I sat this year out, but from the pics i've seen it looked like a road/gravel race. I'm really surprised SC have not sorted the sewerage issue out, and even more surprised they allowed the route anywhere near it - even a small droplet of contaminated water flicking up into your eye, nose or mouth can get you seriously sick. But its been there since the beginning of this race at SC. I really think they taken one of the better MTB races for the year in JHB and dumned it down and gone cazy with the entry fee. When Men where Men and sheep were scared the MTB race was the Sat before the Sun road race and you were part of a special club if you did both. Moving to SC was good in the beginning and a real challenging route, especially that last climb up the south fence line and then up again to the finish, and of course who doesn't enjoy the NF trails. Seeing the route now, all squeezed into SC basically riding along their manicured trails for the residents is mmmmm bleh ! Nah ! doubt i be back - would rather spend a 50 ronds at modders and smash a coffee and brekkie at Flamingo shopping ctr afterwards
  16. 32GI Endurance in 1 bottle and water in the other
  17. Need to master the skill of "riding the rut" I seen a few guys crash (Including myself) and Pretzel a wheel when encountering a rut in the trail. After some reading up and trolling the school of Utube, I now mastered the art of riding the rut - When seeing a rut in the trail we look at it - 1st mistake - If you look at it you gonna ride into it - Once we in it we try turn out of it - 2nd mistake - Once you in it loosen your grip on the bars and allow the rut to guide your wheel - don't fight it, just let the wheels roll through the rut and out the other end. Some of the smoother rutted corners are like mini berms so you can really rail the corners now - but be sure to watch the position of your pedals on the incline ruts for pedal strikes.
  18. And winning the game is always easier when all the hacks and workarounds are known.
  19. Yes we used to separate the healthy and unhealthy baskets and do 2 separate transactions and it worked - In fact the lady at the till said everyone paying with their Disco cards do it that way. If the 3rd party member is not on your vitality then you cannot book air tickets for them - when you book through the system, only the names of the members can be selected. If you book under a member name for some one else they wont allow that person to board as they need to provide ID at the airport to prove they are the person on the ticket.

  23. Come now guys, that is perfectly rideable - Rail the berm and slot nicely through numerous rut lines to choose from
  24. First decide what your budget is for 2 X MTB's Then visit Ridgeway Cyclelab Solomons Cajees To get an idea what they can offer within your budget Research what's on offer in the used market for your same budget - you will probably get a far better spec'd used bike than what a shop will offer new - some shops may even have used trade-ins they can offer you. Anything you want to know - Ask here on BikeHub, there are 1000's of knowitalls like me who will be glad to give our 2cents for free. Stay away from Makro / Game / Sportsmans bicycles good luck and welcome to the dark side
  25. cyclists should not be complaining about cyclists at the Cradle - its a shitshow created by cyclists for cyclists and now the cyclists are moaning - when will cyclists ever be happy, Maybe only when every cyclist becomes a self entitled box, then all cyclists will be happy
