  1. Good to see you on the bike again.
  2. Recently had the same issue with the dropper (Syncros) on my wife's Scott. Noticed a puddle of oil on the floor under the bottom bracket and the post was stuck in the up position. Turned out a small piece (not sure what it's called) on the cartridge in the dropper had broken off resulting in all the oil dumping out. Since it was a sealed unit the whole cartridge had to be replaced. LBS sorted it out with no issues.

  4. Aah! You say the nicest things.
  5. Indeed it was, but kept a healthy distance from it. My phone's camera has a very good zoom.
  6. Came across this juvenile puffy in the Cecilia Forest carpark late yesterday afternoon. About 30cm in length.
  7. Very happy so far. I initially didn't want such a "big" helmet but it fits my pip well and is comfortable. Nice ventilation and I'm quite enjoying the bigger than I'm used to visor. The price was good too. Got the black one as it was the only one left in the shop in my size and to be honest I wanted black.
  8. New helmet day. Decided it was time.
  9. Is this the start of a plan to go ride there?
  10. I got some of those from Bridge Cycles.
  11. Really enjoying your story Sam, not enough to enter the Munga, but enough to get motivated to ride my bike more.
  12. Thanks, I've still got the original fork so I'm sorted for that.
  13. It's the Tassajara frame.
  14. I'll be following this thread with interest. I have an old Gary Fisher 26er which was my first MTB from 1995 and is now hanging in my garage. Don't have the heart to sell it. I'd like to convert it to 700c wheels (I've checked and they do fit) and drop bars to start. My problem it getting the brake calipers to fit the bigger wheels. I've seen extensions for the calipers mounts online but not sure how well they work. Looking for options and ideas.
  15. All ex world champs are entitled to wear the rainbow bands as a trim on their sleeves or collar once their "reign" is over.
  16. Hi, please tell me more about your bike. Is that an old 26 inch MTB that you've put 700c/29er wheels on? If so, how have you changed the brake calipers to fit? I have an old Gary Fisher 26er that I want to do the same to. Thanks
  17. And sommer adjusts something on his bars mid run ????
  18. Great spot that! Spent a lot of time there over the years.
  19. Great to meet you too and thanks for the chat! You certainly took my mind off that climb.
  20. Great news! Really looking forward to it, whatever format it takes. Just as long as we can get out on our trusty old steeds in that incredible countryside.
  21. Not sure but I'm planning on tracking my ride directly on the Strava app on my phone.
  22. From here to here and topping out here It's been a long time since I've ridden the Noordhoek Peak loop and I'd forgotten how good it is. Ps. Snuck in this ride just before the storm.
  23. It seemed to have had the desired outcome. She can't wait to do it again. The only problem now is that she wants a new bike.
