  1. My service charge is there in black and white on Jo'burg Powers 2009 tariff schedule. It applies to all 60a single phase users. Your rate per KWh is depenedent on your amount of usage.
  2. My meter gets read every month and yet I still get an estimated interim consumption charge. I have mailed Jo'burg connect with no response. Daylight robbery. What's the demand side management levy?
  3. I reckon grondpad has hit the nail on the head. Rietvlei might be up there but I cant say personally. I also dont think any piece could be complete without the Spruit and Northern Farm purely from an accessibilty and range point of view.
  4. Which mag?
  5. Milky, how does a cyclist crash into a car turning right? Trying to see how this can happen with the cyclist riding in a responsible manner but am at a loss to do so.

    Chains

Pure chain breaks are very rare. You can twist a chain during an incorrect gear change either bending it or forcing it to break. Chain breaks also occur when a chain has been incorrectly assembled. If you are unsure of what tool to get I would try and forget it at this late stage. Good skill to know but learn to do it properly. If you feel you need to get one get a quick link as well to join your chain. Get an old chain and practise a few times as well.
  7. Only VISA accepted at WC facilities.
  8. Very nice n all but how do the guys from sperm count fit in? Do mweb iinstall a line as well?
  9. Planet Wheels would be to the right just outside the picture if you are looking towards Emmarentia with Delta Park behind you. The blue bridge crossing into Parkhurst is just behind the trees in the top left of the pic.
  10. Its dried out quite a bit the last few days but the ruts are still deep. There is an underground river running down the slope which comes out at about that point so it is always wetter there than the surrounds. This guy was extremely lucky that there were so many bushes as its quite a long way down the bank and it is pretty steep.
  11. Right, so who's the dude who fell off the embankment on the Spruit just downstream of Rustenburg Rd. Heard the mates calling out of concern who then broke out into laughter once they heard he was OK. Glad you are OK. The spot The hole
  12. Get a powerbalance band. The space age hollogram will sort out any cosmic interference.
  13. Not only an excellent cyclist but a genuinely nice guy. We need more peeps like this around.
  14. The calipers are aligned using the bolts that fix the caliper to the frame/bracket. Not sure if you have the spacers or the bracket. Bracket works much better, spacers are a Beeyutch to set properly.
  15. We were having a chat about transporting bikes yesterday. Feeling was that when bikes are padded and cased up the handlers take that as licence to throw them around. If the bike is loaded as a standalone that they have to wheel on the guys generally take better care of it. Crappy to find your bike like that especially when it looks like you have taken so much care.
  16. Put your wheel in with the bike the right way up ie not on its handlebars and make sure you always do it like this. Adjust your calipers once wheel has been installed properly. Tighten the bolts slowly alternating regularly between the 2 because its easy to shift the calpier while tightening. SOme contact is normal but should be consistent over the revolution of the wheel. This contact should die down once the pads start wearing. If you are running 6 bolt rotors check that all the bolts are tight too.
  17. I wonder if you had been on a mtb how quickly you would have been picked up?
  18. I use a Suunto and been very happy with it. Cant comment on Polar as I only had a basic one a while back. As far as support goes I used the Polar guys a while back and they were great. I am still waiting for the new Suunto agents to get back to me regarding upgrading my t6 software to t6c.
  19. Why would you want to do something as risky as this?
  20. Crossmarks not the best in mud but a great all round tyre that wears very well. What do you have on presently and how do you rate them? You have been given good advice above but time and you riding your own tyre choice will be the true test. Good luck and welcome to the hub.
  21. A hot chick working the till!
  22. If you want a cheap degreaser get some engine cleaner from Midas or your local car spares place. About R100 for 5l. Might try using some in my oven.
  23. This has been quite a common problem on Maxxis XMarks and to a lesser extent the Larsens. I have experienced it on both. Has been discussed on these pages a couple of times with no real conclusion. Culprits tyhat have been blamed are the use of ammonia based sealants and the rubber compound not being up to scratch. As far as I know, and I would like to know if otherwise, this problem has not resulted in complete tyre failure.
