You can ride from Kleinbrak through to Grootbrak , Left at Spar nice climb. Jonkersberg ,Friemersheim, Cross Kleinbrak river in knee deep water twice,and on to Bottlierskop .About 60km. On the strength of an article in Bicycling magazine, I ordered a pair of Enjoy bib shorts online. I haven't worn bibs before so I have nothing to compare it with. Cost R650. But I would take bets that it's as good and comfortable as some at double the price. Good material, thick padding and strong elastics. I'm more than happy.

It's hard enough trying to have one personality in real life.

Had a good stage 1 . Two Northcliff guys pulled us for the last 15 or so kms ,nice finish . Stage 2 VC group I Took a dive about 2kms from the start , lost all the groups. Battled alone and in small groups against that wind. Worked with a guy from Edenvale. Warren ? Thanks. Midway through stage three there was a crash at the front of our group . We were about 15 or so.Two guys in front touched ,both fell and slid clean off the road. It looked pretty serious. Happened at over 40 km /hr I really hope they're all right. Very nice race. God willing ,back for no 5 next year. Edit: Isn't Johnny Koen the best announcer in the world? At the start of stage 3 ." She's a bit late. Please let the lady through. They went that way my dear."

Not condoning doping in any form, but I wonder about the "randomness" of this test. UCI or CSA does the testing and they need a few positive results. So they pick out a guy who in a bodybuilder's sense looks the part. Jackpot. You've got your result without making any waves upfront. Could they show a list with all the other "random" names or numbers? And how are they selected? If a certain name comes up, could an official behind a closed tent flap say:"Oopsie ,not that one!" There should be two lists. One for riders who have come onto the doping radar for whatever reason. And another completely random list ,drawn by a member of the public in front of cameras.( A higher proportion of numbers in here from the top riders maybe.) This would eliminate the perception that certain riders don't get tested because of celebrity status , or that they are too valuable to be positive.

Is it not that often in training programs this refers to lactate threshold HR. If your max is 180 ,LTHR could be 160. So 106% would take you up to 169 or so.

Riding in the Grootbrak area a few days ago . Broke my chain on an uphill . I was in all the wrong gears. Fellow biker stopped to help , he had a quicklink helped me on my way. Had a pleasant ride together rest of the route. Thanks Andre .I will pay it forward.
