  1. Eish. Yes Thanks
  2. The Lone Ranger is captured by some Indians."Before you die ,one last wish ", says the chief. Lone Ranger whistles ,Tonto comes trotting along. He whispers something into the horse's ear. Tonto gallops off ,comes back an hour later with a sexy barmaid on his back. "What a brave man you are Lone Ranger . A woman. In the face of death?" "Uhm Chief.... do you mind if I have another word with my horse please?" "You bloody fool I told you to fetch a POSSE!"
  3. Half ses op Sat oggend van Shell in Voorbaai af. Praat met Marius by Monties Cycles in Mosselbaai.
  4. So how did it go? Did you ride? Just asking , as I had a ride with the guys from Voorbaai weekend before. Nice coffee afterwards. Best part is when you ride your bike right into the shop, through the self opening doors. Lekker . Dankie ouens .
  5. There goes your hosepipe, cycling shoes , mudflaps , water bottles, towbar wires..................
  6. Did it Saturday morning. It was hot. That last hill always gets me as well. Reminds you where you are riding ,one last time. My speed up that hill is called NVO.(Net voor omval.) Edit: Blue, at first I thought you were talking about that little bl***sem right at the end ,before you head to the car park.
  7. There was a thread about this somewhere.
  8. A few months ago during a midweek afternoon ride, I noticed some sort of filming going on at the museum . Coming back on the last km I was stopped by a guard and asked to wait. After 10min or so I was told I could go, only to see somebody on the set waving his arms frantically and telling me to stop. I Shouted back that I'm tired and it's only two minutes to the car park anyway. So last night I stumble across Donkerland on Kyknet .I've only heard of this historical drama but never watched it. And the farm is none other than the museum at SBR. So if there is a heavy dark family scene, with a tired looking guy on a old Raleigh swearing in the background . PM me I want my name in the credits.

    A Sub 3 Argus?

Maybe I should've added that mine normally rings on that hill.In my own experience the just over 30 km/h average in the local races has never been good enough to even get me to a sub 3.30.

    A Sub 3 Argus?

A guess. Your three hour bell will ring just as you crest Suikerbossie.
  11. Made a tiny contribution. This is much better than fighting about atheism, religion, politics and whatever else we normally come up with on a Friday.
  12. If a zebra crosses your path try and take the right line. Sorry, this is the best I can come up with on a Friday.
  13. Rule no, 42. A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/ or finished by a run. Multisport magazine articles only apply to us when we think it's valid. And from rule 47. Beer is a recovery drink ,an elixir for post ride trash talking.............. Problem solved.
  14. At least the shipping is free. Edit:Seems Topfuel beat me to it. Great minds....
  15. For the same reason that you guys are flaming the OP, possible mistaken ID ,the charges in a big corporate would not get off the ground. "There was another dik oke in a red shirt ahead of me it was him." Or ."Go check the hub ,they're a nasty bunch . I thought the paper was safely in my back pocket." End of story. Edit: I do take the point though that there could be repercussions more serious than the actual misdemeanor.
  16. If you can get a guy fired for dropping a paper in a bike race, then I want you to be my HR man .
  17. Just remember to pick up the empty cartridges.
  18. Seeding was done according to your place of residence. The South , Alberton and Germiston all in HL.
  19. You could feel lost. But not really get lost.Only problem could be that you run out of legs, and then it is a long way out. Best to go in a group. An idea is to ride it once with a car. Just to see what it's about. It's a nice place to ride.
  20. If it doesn't rain that dirt piece is insignificant. It is often used by roadies during training rides. Don't let it stop you from doing the race.
  21. A while ago in an interview on Supercycling ,our own Supermechanic, head of Team Sky's maintenance, Gary Blem said that he offered his services to UCI CSA at events in his spare time. They asked him to submit his CV. Edit: Corrected. Thanks.
  22. Grumps , Helicopters were up there with the best of the Glam punk bands. Not sure ,but last I heard Franco had an Italian restaurant in Vanderbijlpark. Another band that I hardly remembered were The Flames. Guys from Durban who is best remembered for a song called " For Your Precious Love." Interesting thing is that Blondie Chaplin and Ricky Fataar joined the Beach Boys in 1970. Chaplin later played with Keith Richards of the Stones and is still a friend of his.
  23. Somewhere at the bottom of the results page.
  24. On only my second ride at Thaba green I decided that I was a real mtb'er . Went into the blue just after the twin tower climb. It took me two minutes to realise I knew nothing. Couldn't ride half, didn't know where I was.I felt like Burt Reynolds in Deliverance.
