  1. Was it a 29er ?
  2. I Think that makes it 8.4%
  3. No. Blue Raleigh.
  4. You can do that? I make it up to the rock on the left . Rest, cough, then to the robot and back down. Would love to know the gradient.
  5. Sorry posting again to keep this thread alive, as I think this is a good idea and it could work, even if the numbers are low for a start. Stayed over for a night in Jan. Had nice meal at small pub very local. Food cooked under the tree. Talked with two MTBers from CT till late. Owl house worth a visit.
  6. Nieu Bethesda has: Great views Food Timekeepers Warmup and stretching before the race. Good idea. I may even buy a mountain bike and try to keep my line.
  7. So it's not the muesli or the peanut butter sandwich.
  8. This is true. Whenever my kids used to go to Mcdonalds and did not bring back any change, I felt like committing a murder.
  9. I don't have a real answer as I also have nutrition issues. But a friend of mine, good ex runner rides on coke and water. When I asked about this , he said that Alan Robb had won four comrades on Coke and water.Darren Lill SA road champ also rides on coke and water.
  10. Apart from the difficulty of doing the whole thing, you are going to lose style points bigtime. Walk the dogs ride the bike.
Sterkte.
  12. We'll be looking out for that coffee shop, next time down there.
  13. Is it AG2R that rides with brown cycling shorts ? Try those. Avoid doing your no. 2 in those temp toilets at the start.
  14. All Rounder . No endurance, can't sprint.
  15. Garfield, ek dog DIE laaste ou sinnetjie sou die ding in perspektief plaas . Het self n paar vriende wat die ding doen. My tong was in my kies. Wel soort van......
  16. May I offer a few pointers to try and soften the image. Ditch the 'Ironman in training ' t-shirt. Resist the urge to collect your 94.7 race number in your IM finishers tee. . When riding in P,Q or R don't do it in your IM kit. Worse, if you've just joined a triathlon club. Do not pitch up in Z with your club kit, compression socks and two bottles at the back of your bike. When checking in at the airport and we're all heading for the Argus and you're on the way to PE (you're arriving early for the event) mention it only once. I'm not going to say anything about the tattoo.Except that becoming a CA is very hard but I have yet to see the Chartered Accountant's crest anywhere in the gym. Disclaimer : This opinion may change if I ever manage to finish one myself.
  17. Then you haven't tasted Peptopro. Edit: Some of the stuff contains Peptopro maybe that's why. Cadel Evans lets the Powerbar gel hang from his mouth for just a few seconds before opening it. Habit or clever advertising ? I don't know.
  18. Avoid running around like a headless chicken ,remember where you rack your bike. When you get into the water and it feels as if you've never done any swimming in your life, that's normal.
  19. Finished right down the list last year and I'm starting in AL.May just fall back to DL. I entered very early. I think that's got something to do with it.
  20. This pot smoking DJ/ journo with an inherent dislike of cyclists ambushed this young guy, asked him a question, and the bloke gave the worst possible answer. I did it in every interview I ever had. If this champion of things awry on our roads really wanted to make a difference why does he pick on a pimply youngster on a bicycle. Why not really show your balls and pick on a misbehaving Taxi. The one whose driver just came out of the shebeen, with ten of his mates. Or go to your local biker jol and tell the President of the club that most of his members are over the limit, then ask THEM QUESTIONS. And take some photos.
  21. If you're sitting in the spectator seats at Argus finish Somerset rd. is right behind you.I've skipped red lights down it on my way to the start with hundreds of fellow cyclists.
  22. Fitted to the skewer, 2 winds of electrical tape just in case.Works fine. When using velcro they ask for chip to go on the left leg . Reason: Cannot get stuck in the crank. I asked the question about the position of the chip (horisontal, vertical etc ) at the Argus Racetec stand. The guy gave me a wry smile and scanned my chip any which way. It worked everytime.
  23. No need to apoligise. You hit the nail on the head.
