  1. This belongs in Classifieds. No problem with you punting your services, but looking for business is not a forum topic. You seem to know this in your last 2 words.
  2. Cut off times are extremely generous, you need more than one hick-up and have to be seriously mechanically useless to miss out on time cuts if you have done serious TIS. There is this mystique around the Epic and plenty of guys around willing to take dollars from the naive and nervous. Get your weight down, get miles in your legs, know how to suffer and get through bad spots then just ride your bike and enjoy it. Oh, and be kind to your equipment.

    Cadence

Then it would be a number, not cadence? Reminds me of a nice girl I dated once, had 2 dogs she called out to while doing the deed: Deeper and Harder
  4. Bollocks, it's all about how often you do it and what you are used to. Tried lube once, felt like I kept sliding around the saddle, couldn't get any grip.
  5. HTFU and spend some TIS
  6. This sort of scare mongering around the Epic is what really pisses me off. Maybe 20 teams can win get on the podium as opposed to the 250 odd teams that just want to complete the event. They certainly don't need the structured training plans, maintenance contracts et al to complete and have fun. I personally think the total number quoted may be close but the mix is pretty off. R15k for supplements? Come on? Just eat and drink properly and leave the supplements to the 20 teams that want the podium. If your training for the Epic requires supplements and a tailor made paid for training programme the you need some serious help from the shrink. Best you don't ride it. To say TIS is not enough is just rubbish. You cannot complete the Epic without serious TIS and serious base miles. The rest is optional.

  8. And then Sagan would ask: What that? To think an East European cycling God would a) know what cricket is B) know who Amla is and c) give a **** d) makes me larf. At least he drinks beer. Even if it goes up his nose. http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m7mrqgODS91qacyk6o1_500.jpg
  9. Who he?
  10. Interesting Slowbee. Are you actively reading the topics or does someone write to you about handbags at dawn? Fascinating.
  11. What is up with Cav's shorts here, pulled them up a bit on the final day? Definite white line visible. http://cdn0.media.cyclingnews.futurecdn.net/2012/07/22/2/bettiniphoto_0117848_1_full_600.jpg
  12. At last, an explanation. Short arse
  13. Ja, no cameltoe like on those SA body suits seen in the TDF,
  14. Dunno. Depends what you look like. As Bob would say.
  15. Don't hold your breath. Cycling is so elitist, there is no way the ANC guvinment is going to waste money to make life safer for rich white people. Drive your car or catch a taxi!
  16. What I can't work out is why 4 top class riders would drag a sprinter to the line for him to take gold? It's not as if they all get a gold medal, just the winner does.
  17. I wonder how FroomeDog is going to handle his role as Cav's domestique on Saturday? Will we see his cocky "go to the front and turn around" look? Or will we see a guy who is there to tow his sprinter to the line for gold?
  18. Last time i checked 40 was still under 60...

  20. Sean Kelly reckons he can turn himself into a Grand Tour winner in the future. Needs to lose some weight for the hills first. http://www.velonation.com/News/ID/12483/Analysis-Kelly-believes-Sagan-could-become-a-Grand-Tour-contender.aspx
  21. I've been doing this cold water thing over winter, just using the pool which is currently 13ยบ so not quite an ice bath, standing just so my butt is dry. I stand for between 3 and 10 minutes. Followed by a hot shower. I have found my legs feel much better than the used to on similar workouts. The tired stiff feeling is no longer evident, the result is very similar in fact to a post session massage. But quicker and free.
  22. I broke mine in January, 6 separate bits of bone. Operated on Jan 6 where plated and pinned. I was spinning on Jan 13 with 1st road ride on Jan 21. Started the fun rides from Jan 29 and rode Argus. 1st bunny hop of a potential hole was a bit sore but otherwise no issues at all. Luckily I was quite fit which definitely helped recovery.
  23. Just get MTN to stop pissing money against the wall on Manchester United. FFS, what a waste that is.
  24. check out pricing at http://www.easygis.co.za/shop/ Prices are generally the best.
