  1. So I am no expert and the math boffins will be able to throw in a bunch of stuff. But Power (watts) basically has elements of torque, cadence, speed and slope in it. Thus your MTB stava figures will be influenced by how heavy you said your MTB is compared to how heavy your road bike is set at. Example, to ride a 1km road with gradient of 1% at cadence 80 and speed of 30 will require a certain watts. With all the above equal, your MTB will give you HIGHER watts (if the weight setting of the MTB on strava is higher) That is my gut feel. Using calories IMO is a bit of a hit and miss. Calories will be based upon HR, correct? This in turn is influenced by diet, tired, overworked, sleep, alcohol etc etc etc.
  2. TT course is 'n joke. There are other routes around town that is much better suited. Regarding the God's window laps. I think it is perfect for SA champs. SA's is about who the strongest age group rider is. And so it should be. To win the jersey should not be "easy". You'll find that the winners of all the age cats will not be "climbers" but will be "puncheur" type riders.
  3. Having done the Clover tour a couple of times.....very good route and tough. Unfair to the Capies........yes. Traveling is expensive. Then again. Last year the Gautengers had it bad. Can't please everyone.
  4. This sounds AWESOME! Sadly SA will adopt to this as the minions see to it they have relevance/jobs.
  5. As stated above: Get a saddle fit done.......figure out sitbone width and get the correct saddle Bibs - My wife has had good fortune with Ciovita and Assos (Although very expensive) Best of luck!
  6. The more I see photies of Jonkers, the more I want to go ride there
  7. I've tried Giro, Fizik, Pearl Isumi but what got my vote in the end was the Specialized ones. Fairly widely available and not too expensive. Shop measures you and then you get 3 different sizes. Worked for me.
  8. Although I read this morning "WADA set to investigate drug found in the hair of three cyclists at 2021 Tour de France" https://www.cyclingweekly.com/news/wada-set-to-investigate-drug-found-in-the-hair-of-three-cyclists-at-2021-tour-de-france-we-are-entitled-to-ask-certain-questions?utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=socialflow&utm_source=twitter.com Seems it is a legal substance not banned outright by WADA
  9. I've sent mail, I've sent PM. nothing.
  10. To whom do they give it back to when they are done with it? Asking for a friend.
  11. Not driving 110km to go fetch a piece of paper. Petrol is expensive. Thus they will not get my money this year.

  15. Rule 29: No European Posterior Man-Satchels Saddle bags have no place on a road bike, and are only acceptable on mountain bikes in extreme cases Dem de rules.
  16. So what does a saddlebag say about your character? 😉🤣
  17. If he can ride on (and in) this, you could do ANYTHING your heart desire. Only one rule. Enjoy the ride!!!!!
  18. Aero shape stem? I'm confused........ On a 9 year old Synapse?..........more confused....... Aero was not even invented in 2013 yet. And the Synapse is the LEAST aero bike of all the Cannondales......it's a touring bike designed for comfort. Take any stem (If you want aero, go for the new Enve stem) and chuck it on there and be done with it. 🤙
  19. You mean TR.........the latest "hookless compatible" one
  20. From what I understand from the LBS is that Evo bikes did not go through Conti SA. Thus pricing for early adopters IMO. I'll wait and see what the cost when they actually do arrive. Also, the first couple of batches had "issues"......don't know exactly what but reading on actual cycling forums I found that the "v2" should be coming out the factories in Feb and thus why there are shortages worldwide of the GP5000 TR
