  1. Great - thanx.
  2. +1 & you can do it yourself is the best part about it. You just need a few tools & you have to be a bit 'handy' You can PM me your e-mail & I'll forward you the tech manual or you can download it from here: http://www.sram.com/sites/default/files/techdocs/2011-reba-technical-manual.pdf or http://www.sram.com/service/rockshox/7,103,434 140mm might be a bit much. Check the manufacturer's specs.
  3. Sorry for the Hi-jack... How much were the delivery & the import taxes? Hi-jack off.
  4. Well this way we can keep a our loved 26ers & not break the bank to upgrade to bigger wheels. Just hope it'll fit my bike though if 1 day I decide to do the 650B upgrade.
  5. I'm with Crow on this 1. Doesn't make sense-I mean you drive throught the whole shock & still if it bottoms out it shouldn't bend the bolts. You dont do 8 foot drops with it by any chance
  6. Trying to get my hands on 1 of these (SBC right?), but with NO luck yet. Where can I try to get it? Ridden my brother's Silverback HT & it seems like a very comfy saddle. I've had the standard X-mission saddle on my Merida HT & didn't like it at all on long rides (2+ hours of riding) then got a Spez Indie XC & it's pretty fair on 3.5 hour rides, but longer it kills me. Tried the Gobi & didn't like it at all. Got the Spez on my Giant trance (DS)
  7. Sort of on the subject. What would be the best slime to use. My bro isn't having too much luck with stans on his bike's tubes. when I changed tyres (running tubeless) +- a month ago I saw that there were some greenish looking slime in the tubes. Have got stans in now with no probs so far, but the greenish slime just seems to be a tad thicker & never had a flat with the old tyres in +-500km.
  8. I've also got a creaking noise coming from my bike, but I guess it's the crank bearings. They're sealed, so can't re-grease & without pressure on them no problem, but when pressure is applied they start to moan. There's another creaking coming from the headset, but only when I get out the saddle & pull hard on the bars. Anyone know what that could be? Already tried unscrewing the headset & h.bars & re-fitted & torqued to 5nm. Bearings are nicely lubed& smooth & loose (in a good way) This is on a Giant trance.
  9. Thanx for the link & replies. I also read that, but was wondering about it as the speed railleur will only do 90% of it's work & is controlled by the shifter, but it could be that it won't work as stated by MTBR link.
  10. Will this Work? 10 speed dyna sys shadow RD on 9 speed cassette & 9 speed shifters? All is shimao. Thanx in advance.
  11. Looks great & I'm really considering! Will find out prices & let you guys know (I've got a dealer which gives me good discount on any FA equipment)
  12. That unpainted image is gorgeous... I'm not a DHer myself, but it leaves me with drool coming out both corners of my mouth - almost like homer j simpson
  13. Bikes aren't fast. Must be the rider? I've never even see a bike ride on it's own...
  14. I was there as well. It was lekker! Awesome beer for sure! We might have had a bit too much, but who cares? Felt it on my ride sunday morning... Have you guys seen the band Rooibaard? Quite good performance as always. Hope to see & meet some hubbers next year!
  15. I absolutely love my Trance. Would seriously hope to have the $ when the 29er (with sloped / curved top tube) comes...
  16. Looks like a really nice frame & would make for a nice bike... If you do scratch-keep us posted. Pics & review
  17. Thanx for the replies. Thouht of buying really entry level as I'm new to clips, but on the other hand it costs less to buy the right thing first time around. Not in too much of a rush, but looks like my move will be the M087's then.
  18. I'm interested in starting to ride with clips & would like to have some opinions on shoes. I'm riding mostly XC & light trail-no AM & DH any time soon... My choice is in this range: SH-M123L http://www.buycycle.co.za/buygear/shoes-mens/shimano-shoe-mtb-m123l.html SH-M087G (which fitted nicely) http://www.buycycle.co.za/buygear/shoes-mens/shimano-en-2-3-4/shimano-m087-mtb-shoe-shimano.html Olympic Hurricane http://www.buycycle.co.za/buygear/shoes-mens/olympic-en/olympic-hurricane-mtb-shoe-omnico.html but any input's welcome.
  19. WOW 75km + of ST- must train for the event this year... Have to get my skills up to ride berms on ladders (if that's what you guys are referring to.) Any links to youtube of this race?
  20. LOL - guess we all do...
  21. Got a Giant Trance & I must say I love it! If I had the money I'd go for an Intense Tracer 2!!! Just gotta love the RAW finnish!!!
  22. Don't think so, but you never know... Just hope anyone on the hub saw your remark
  23. Can you believe it? It almost goes faster than you can read it...
  24. Hi Vex, I've got a Reba dual air RLT for R2800 incl postage. Fork has only done 900km & steerer is around 215-220mm (which is serviced +- a month ago - don't use it as I've got another bike) I must add that the Reba feels smoother than my Fox F120 RL that's on my dual suspension. Just wish there was an option to get a 15mm maxle lowers for the reba. Haven't ridden the Recon yet, but it seems to be a good fork.
