  1. Maybe we should have a All-Mountain build-off.... with pictures...
  2. This looks delicious, do we get something like this locally? http://www.jensonusa.com/Honey-Stinger-Waffle-Single Plus LANCE suggested it, so it must be the shizzle (LOL).
  3. SARS use the invoice price, excluding shipment cost. SA item cost is not considered at all. I would stay away from e-bay though, really no reason to buy from there... If you want to import cycling good use Chainreactioncycles, Jensonusa, competitivecyclist.com even AMAZON stocks parts..
  4. OH, you fail to mention your AM bike is made of plastic, and that it looks totally ridiculous because it actually needs white grips.
  5. I'm waiting for my EASTON HAVEN 70mm to arrive tomorrow.
  6. As crow said, if you intend to do 2+hours of riding you don't want too short, 70~80mm works best for me.
  7. Garmin. No question. Garmin in Sa direct, not a distributor, support is excellent.
  8. I will be very happy with 13.5kg even...
  9. Angle-set is expensive!!! Also trying to keep the weight down, because I intend to ride this bike ALL the time... not that 'im hung up on weight, but when you start adding Reverbs, 160/36mm forks, 20mm axle/142-12mm axles, all-mountain wheelsets etc etc the kg's clock up quickly.... I broke the bank and tried to get as much top noch components on sale... so all in all i'm hoping to have her be under 13kg's without pedals.. According to my calculations (confirmed by a competitive.com build basked she should weight about 12.87kg's with pedals, and a stans tubeless. Real-world I imagine it would be a bit more than what it says on paper.
  10. Naa.. instead of angle set i'm using a 160mm forks, v.s 150mm to give me the same effect as an angle-set The headset is one of the parts coming from the states, it's an inset/zs spec and rather hard to find with a 44 top and 56 bottom cup... So I got a really nice Chris King "GOLD" one....
  11. the kashima coating on my fox 36 stanchions taste funky
  12. Yeah, Have the FORKS and FRAME already,,,, all the other bits sitting at customs/airport... All I could do upto now was to install the 142mm rear chips and check the torqs on the suspension.... Waiting is killing me..
  13. Wes, what's up with the sudden replies? You only got all together now? By the way, I'm also waiting on 2x mountain king 2's for my new Easton Heaven wheel set. Should be here on monday.
  14. Waiting for them to arrive..... finally building my dream bike.... nervous about it... components/shipments coming in from france, us, uk and sa... will have 95% of everything on monday. been tracking the shipment on UPS, FedEX and DHL site like crazy... my refresh browser button been hit a billion times....
  15. Aaahhh wish I could ride with you mayhem... but distance separates us buddy! And why are you never that nice to me... that post makes you sound so polite and friendly...

  21. I purchased a 29er... it was higher-than-mid-range specification bike, really rated and well reviewed...it had reba and full xt2012, it was a DS with 100mm travel... and I absolutely hated it, I kept on going back to my tomac snyper, with 150/140mm suspension. I just enjoyed a longer travel bike so much more... I now usually ride between 15 and 30km's at a time, but regularly (a couple of times a week). I have many years cycling experience under my belt, raced road provincially and even have a couple of modest titles to show for it.... so I can confidently say I have better than newbie cycling experience... I stay convinced that the 29er had nothing on my 26er longer travel bike in terms of "fun or enjoyment" for anything up to 3 hours of riding... I still believe people like Mr. HRossenrode would not have known any better and probably would have had more fun and a better experience on a good spec 26er v.s a 29er low spec. And yes, if you have the professionals test out the times, efficiencies, etc of the 29ers, using TOP TOP TOP-end components and "dialed" and tuned suspensions, then for sure, i agree - 29ers ARE "MUCH" faster - just like a "Track Tuned" version of an M3 is faster than a standard 328 or for the lack of a better example... just so is a UNO TURBO much faster than the 328 from robot to robot... it doesn't mean i want to drive a UNO TURBO.... does it?
  22. Hey Grebel, I have a couple of parts lying around.. will check it out and let you know...
