Going to be tough for the Kings. First year in Superrugby with new systems, team and setup always tight, especially away games. So logic says they should finish last next year. Then got to play the fired up , rested ( and underplayed) Lions in a one off. Lose that game and they gone again. Thats quite daunting. Might also might log position a bit easier for the big guns like Sharks Bulls Stormers, as they play the Kings twice each. Good luck to the Kings. I hope they can belt a few past the Aussies for us , but won't be easy.

Yip, better than 50/4. Let's see what happens when they bat. Remember they have to win, so no hanging around accumulating for 2 1/2 days, they will run out of time. Practice twisting your heel sideways and not lifting your foot. Always harder when on flat easy surfaces. Amazing how easily you clip out when in a tight tech spot on a trail before you tip and roll, without even thinking about it.

Eish. I'd fly to Durbs and drive up. Start is in the Free State, near Sterkfontein Dam. Camp in the Emseni camp overnight after day 1 and day 2, and then day 3 finishes in Winterton, which is about 20 ks away as the crow flies ( bit further by bike!) Long way to drive from CT and then drive back 3 days later. Durban to Winterton is an easy 2 hrs or so, and probably 3 hrs to the start venue.

Are you doing 2 day or 3 day?

Yip, can sleep in the race tents, similar to Sani, down by the river, or you can pitch your own tent, or bring your caravan and set up a few hundred metres away on the other side of the camp. The main race and food tent is about in the middle. All good either way. Past few years we have used our own tents, but always a bit of a pain to take down and pack up after the race. Very chilled environment and superb event.

Mtb slicks are cheap.

I've done a few on my mtb, nice, just takes longer. Generally whole batches of mtbers together . However I prefer it on a road bike. That and tour Durban is the only time in the whole year when I ride a road bike, and the speed is great fun on the closed roads. Plus you finish quicker.
