Thanks for the advice. The bike was booked in for a full service 3 months ago. All the components are dry.These wheels are older than 4 years. Will it hurt if I replace the bearings and crease the components?

During my morning ride my wheels started to make a weird noise. It sounds almost like braking noise and you can feel it too. After a couple of jumps to noise goes away but after a while it comes back. I think the bearings must be replaced. Any advice or suggestions?

I have a pair of Ryder gloves but I would not recommend then if the temp is less than -7 degrees. But I geuss if you use inners go can use them. I am going this route, its very cold here.

I have asma and take 2 burst before I ride. If I ride hard it is possible to get another asma attack. But finishing a pump and going for seconds is a bit much.

Just make sure the crank is strong enough. Took one for our Wedding photo's and after pedaling 2km (and popping a wheeley or 2) something broke by the crank. Told the LBS is poor quality on the metal. Luckily he didn't charge me to fix it. Those things are heavy but using the back pedal to brake brings back memories.

some hubs are for 8 speed only, others are for 9-10 speed casette. Let you LBS check out if it will fit a 9 speed casette. A new hub cost about R250 - R350.

I want to move to 10 speed and the only thing stopping me is the price of the 105 STI's . Derailleur is a derailleur, STI's tells it what to do. I ran 9 speed with 8 speed components except for the casette that was 9 speed as well.

I currently have 105 comp with 9 speed STI's and casette on my bike but don't want to pay R2500 at CRC for 105 Shifters. Camp has 10 speed shifters under R1100 and casette for R500. Is worth swapping to Camp or stay at Shimano?

Can you run Camp STI's with a Shimano casette?

You can get special contact lenses that won't dry so quickly than the rest. Its cost a bit more but speak to your opt.
