  1. Hijack on : Did you get your Garmin back yet? Hijack Off
  2. I use Rockets and they work for me, helps alot with recovery. Only thing I find is that my legs feel a bit sluggish at first the next day so you need to warm up properly if racing.
  3. Kona, at this stage I think Sonic and myself will be there.
  4. Don't be sarcastic. Ian's deeply hurt about this one. He didn't even wait for me at the top - and it wasn't even Thursday morning!!! Sorry IanJ didn't realise it was so fresh ......... Not a problem, I can deal with it. I think she even beat epoh up one climb at the Panorama Tour. Yes Thug up Sylvia's pass, she wasn't that far ahead though. IanJ2008-07-08 03:14:14
  5. Um Yes but then so would you be if it was Joanna Hotchkiss, I think she weighs about 18kg with her bike.
  6. Thuggie but then it would be: Runner & Cyclist When you coming back? You're team needs you, even bringing in ringers now. It's also very embarrasing to get beaten up a hill by a girl.
  7. The cold must be getting to him.
  8. It's not clear from the story but it seems the cyclist might have been riding on the pavement in which case he deserves to have the book thrown at him .
  9. Ok Holy Roller I bow to your superior journalistic skills, I was told by J&J when I collected my frame that they were still completely manaufactured in Italy. It appears as though the frames are made in Taiwan and painting and assembly happens in Italy. Quite a good write up here: http://allanti.com/page.cfm?PageID=328
  10. Except these guys were CROSSING the road not running in it. The Cyclist is at fault here for not having lights.
  11. MuXmAn Yes there probably is a problem with the product but the bottom line is that the problem has been resolved to my satisfaction within a reasoanble amount of time. I also had problems with the Heart rate strap on my previous Polar 725 but I took in to Polar and they gave me another, problem solved. Have you done any research into the 305 to establish whether there is a general problemm with the product and if so why not take it up with Garmin internationally?
  12. Yup I always make sure it is tighly sealed. I found thta if I rode in heavy rain the unit would still work fine for a few days then it would start to fog up inside with condensation. Within a few weeks after that it would become erratic and not respond to buttons etc. Both units had pretty much the same symptoms. One benefit of the Garmin swap out is that they send a complete box with all HR straps and sensors etc. so I now have several spares.
  13. I have twice had problems with my 305 when water has got into the unit when riding in the rain. Both times I have taken it directly to the distributors in North Riding. I have received brand new units delivered by courier to my house within 3-4 days of me dropping them off. Yes there does seem to be a problem with sealing of the unit but in both cases the service received was good.
  14. BB this is just a thought but might be worth a try. There is a small plate which goes in the slot in the crank and is supposed to prevent overtightening and also prevent the crank coming off if it comes loose. When I first got my Dura Ace (second hand) the plate was missing so I rode for some time with out it. Try taking it out, you should be able to tighten the crank more, just be careful not to overtighten or it might crack.
  15. What !!! Are you saying that in less than a week you're new bike got written off? Are you ok?
  16. I would stand the wheel so that the valve is at the top 12 o'clock position for some time. This will let the slime run away from the valve. Then deflate the tube normally, there will be some slime escaping but not too much. Remove the tube and tyre, replace with the new tyre, put the tube back and inflate as normal. Only possible problem could be size of the tube if the slick mtb tyres are smaller but I don't think it will be a problem.
  17. Abs and back muscles - support your core (torso)
  18. Definately both for me.
  19. So does that mean we have to switch off our computers and lock them away?
