  1. Yup, wife is doing a week long art class here so I was dragged along kicking and screaming with my MTB. Unfortunately due to work issues I have to come home tomorrow but will be back Wednesday for the rest of the week. I believe there is a trail from Montusi, near Alpine Heath up to Little Switzerland. I want to go try it out later in the week.
  2. I had a really terrible ride this morning, no taxis, no red robots just lots of mountains and fresh air. View of the Amphitheatre from near the Cavern Slightly closer, see the snow still on the peaks My bike with the Tugela in the background Nice spot to stop for drinks Ate my lunch here (sandwiches etc. packed by hotel) . All in all managed to get in 65km of mixed tar, jeep track and single track riding.
  3. Yes' date=' Samma, not sure why a black eye accompanies your statement. Towing is encouraged by the organisers. If you leave your partner behind you get a time penalty. It's a great team event - my favourite on the calendar. Thanks for the pics, Zaskar! [/quote'] I just wish I could ride as fast as some of these guys can tow (Jules included) . Thanks from me too for the pics and the support Zaskar. Anyone who is contemplating doing the Panorama Tour you just HAVE to go do it. It is the best race/tour that I have ever done.
  4. Yes and the 10 speed Sram Powerlinks are one use only, i.e. once they are fastened they cannot be reopened. The Connex link can be used over and over.
  5. May the force be with you Thanks sammajoor, these days the Force surrounds me .
  6. I will be there ..... In Force
  7. Ok I delivered 150kg from Delgado, MWNN and myself this morning and FORA was VERY grateful to receive it. The guy there told me they are currently housing 590 dogs and more arrive every day. I bought the food in 50kg bags from Fontainebleau Pet Hyper just off Rabie Street. The normal price is R350/50kg but they gave me 10% discount as it is for charity. Works out to R 6.30/kg for a good quality food.
  8. In December with the money donated by Hubbers I bought a middle of the range food from a distributor in Fontainebleau, Randburg. It comes in 25kg bags and when I told them what it was for they gave me quite a big discount. I can't remember the exact amounts but I am going there again tomorrow and will post details afterwards.
  9. Ian if you don't mind please get a 50kg from me and PM me what I owe you!! I'll sort you via the net or at SBR this weekend!! Will do, I will be at SBR Saturday but will pm you details once I have delivered.
  10. Or real men riding the Etape du Tour in the Pyrenees . Testosterone levels up today Grandad?
  11. Not wanting to get involved in the argument as I don't know the people involved or the facts but purely looking at the picture it looks to me as though the male rider is in front of the female and therefore couldn't have been pushing as alleged by gypsy. Maybe he simply put his hand on her shoulder as he passed. Whenever I have seen someone assisting someone else it would be a push on the back and not being pulled by the shoulder which would be very umcomfortable. Just my observation.
  12. I will take food tomorrow. I will buy 50kg from the store in Fontainebleau again and drop it off.

Just you lot wait till Johan gets here.
  14. I agree but you do pay a premium for the brand name. We have been supplying a lot of Acer's recently and have had very few problems and Acer's support is generally good. You can normally get an equivalent Acer at about 10-15% cheaper than an HP.
  15. Ag no man, I only just saw this now. BB please tell LB that we wish him all the best for a speedy recovery. I know he had big plans for this year and things were going well. Even bigger pity that it had to be a motorbike, at least if it was on his bicycle he probably wouldn't feel so bad about it.

  17. Hey Chilli, sorry to hear about the crash, hope you get better soon and can get back on the bike.
  18. Cois, I am on my third Garmin 305 in a year. They don't seem to like water either. They always swap them out without an argument but it is the inconvenience of having to wait 3-4 days for them to send a new unit to me.
