Zoo you need Facebook access. Stunning pics Daemon.
  5. There is a similar story in Lance's book about the testers arriving after his wife had gone into labour and they were about to leave for the hospital. The testers insisted that they must carry out the test. Ridiculous if you ask me.
  6. Woosies, I rode the Cradle route and only saw one other cyclist the whole morning. Must admit when I got home I was so cold I couldn't get the key in the door to open it, had to call someone to open for me. My hands were actually going purple. The combination of rain and wind is not a nice one but as you say we'd better get used to it for the rest of the week.
  7. No the energy expenditure remains the same. To move the same mass the same distance at the same speed would require the same amount of work. The fitter guy would just feel better at the end of it.
  8. True I think it does, you have a point. Maybe in the absence of HR it just uses the other factors because theoretically it can still calculate it based on speed and gradient etc.
  9. Jenna Lee Maybe you could do an interview with Chunky for your article. What about it Chunky?
  10. Is is calculated, based on your weight, distance travelled, speed and ascent. Obviously not very accurate but at least it is a guide line. In your case it was assuming you were riding your bike not cheating and using the car .
  11. Vuil-ryer jy maak my nou deurmekaar So se jy nou 'n doper is ook 'n hacker of 'n hacker is ook 'n doper ? Help 'n mens bietjie verstaan asseblief ......... You have to smoke the same stuff to be able to understand him .
  12. Ok can we go back to Megan Fox now? It is Friday you know.
  13. Ja well we all know you are the biggest doper in all the bunches. Did you also stop to pick some herbs on the slopes of Chapmans Peak?
  14. Have you seen how competitive the racing is in the A bunch? Not so much from there down.
  15. Chunky are you implying that even if I was gentically built for cycling (which i'm not) and I trained harder and more scientifically than the other guys in my category I would never beat them because some of them will be doping? If the above is true would you say it applies to all categories of racing is SA, even open groups?
  16. Bear ??? And check out this link: http://www.dothetest.co.uk/
  17. Join the club, except mine is a big SQL database sitting on a corrupt raid drive.

  20. This is the one I have been waiting for, will give it a bash now.
  21. I think the focus of this thread got shifted. The original article I posted was copy of a letter to a local newspaper written by a MOTORIST. Now, like it or not if we want to be safe on the roads we need to have as many motorists on our side as possible. Every letter that appears in a newspaper turns more and more of them against us. Let's face it the perception of cyclists amongst the general population is not good (and rightly so) and we need to do something about it. There will always be the exception, some cranky fool who has a vendetta, but if the majority of motorists were to respect our right to be on the road things would be a lot safer. Every weekday morning I ride back from my morning training ride through Sandton in peak hour traffic and generally speaking motorists are pretty friendly. I make a point of thanking those that wait for me to cross an intersection even if I have the right of way. If motorists see huge bunches of cyclists wizzing through red robots without even slowing down they see them as a hazard and become antagonistic. Now if everyone were to read the original post they would see that the point was not cyclists bitching about other cyclists but motorists perception of cyclists, which like it or not is important.
