  1. I will be going as soft as i can without losing control .My weght is 100 kg .Front tyre 1.7 Rear 1.8 and shocks 10 psi lower than normal .On a Fox fork it is 100 psi and rear shock 210 psi
  2. He might have been cleared for other reasons than that is given .The pharmacist story just does not hold water .I believe he is clean ,but that the testing is where the mess up was made
  3. Where do you live and ride ?
  4. The first 2climbs of the day are tougher than the last one .Ending in the steepest part of the stage in the last 3km .Go try it !
  5. A challenging ,enjoyable route again .Well organized like always
  6. That will be way to expensive and difficult for the celebs and exarro .The entry fee will go to > R100k for the profits to remain the same .Maybe R95k then the riders have to make their own breakfast
  7. Hallo Wessel .Kan 80 verander word na 115 .Reeds ingeskryf vir 80km

  10. Sorry to burst your bubble but i am not waiting in anticipation .Only in the Ladies & Bicycles thread that happens
  11. Tomorrow !
  12. That happens .I use a bmx chain .No slapping about but should have about half an inch of play by hand
  13. My current sprocket choice does not allow me to get proper chain tension and have the rear brake fit perfectly on my inbred .If a take a chain like out is to tight and if i leave like it in the brake disc is slightly out of its groove .With 38 x 18 it was perfect .Running 36x 19 now
  14. The problem with horizontal dropouts compared to paragon sliders is that you might have difficulty getting the chain tension correct and the brake to fit properly .Eccentric BB solves that and also a normal frame with chain tensioner solves that problem .With paragon slider or similar the whole rear unit with the brake and wheel moves .Also much easier to change rear sprockets with a normal frame and tensioner
  15. R8000too much .R5000 to little .I think R6500.is fair
  16. Not related to cycling but it helps to give a damn .When i was returning from school after picking up my daugters we noticed a school case lying on the pavement at dusk .We stopped and retrieved the case ,phoned the owner and found out that he did not even know his case was missing .After giving his parents the info where we found it ,they went and retrieved their laptop bag with all important documents in that his dad had worked on for months in the same area .Turned out that their car was broken into and said items stolen while they were attending a school function
  17. Using a hairdryer to get a headset into a carbon frame and to get a BB loosened or fastened works the best .Almost no force needed if you heat the outer part first
  18. WD 40 cleans as well as lubes
  19. All RSA taxpaying citizen's jointly own the roads and if you pay municipal taxes in the area like TSHWANE you probably have more right than a non Tshwane resident .That's why Gauteng residents pay toll fees and capetonians don,t
  20. I was or is still considering joining this club for exactly the reason that they ride in a group and have a sweeper car behind .They have a early morning ride on weekends and do about a 100km .A cyclist is by law also a road user and have the fullest right to be there and be safe just like a car or a pedestrian crossing .Even in my own family i have issues with impatient driving around cyclists .
  21. Only in CP .Here in Gauteng nobody ever finds their stolen bikes again
  22. They give good sevice and deals .I bought a bike from them and cost me R550 extra to deliver in Pretoria
  23. I have and regularly ride both .The only advantage a HT has over a DS is when you do a smooth surface climb like a dirt road and some weight +_ 2kg saving .Rocky climbs like most of what we do in Gauteng are easier with a DS .Rider weight is also important .The lighter rider gains less with Ds than a heavier rider
  24. Line entry ! Let as know if it worked
  25. Don,t they have the right to use the road with a car following them .The point of the car following is to give them the same room that a car would occupy .Why don,t you just chill out and rather join them .Since when do cars own the roads anyway .It can be annoying ,but so are slow traffic ,trucks ,pedestrians ,old folk,s .It is not the cyclists but drivers like you that make cycling unsafe .It is a sunday morning afterall .Give people space to live ! And no ! I am not a club member
