    I rode the smuggler at a Dirt merchant test day at Wolwekloof in Pretoria .I rode the same trails that i have ridden with my other XC bikes before .Although the bike is a Alu frame and slightly heavier i never felt it .I was curious about the climbing ability and surprised that climbing was as good or even better with the more upright seat post position .The bike inspires confidence when descending ,so much that i rode drop offs for the first time that i never had the courage to ride before before .It takes a few corners to get used to the wider bars and direct steering ,but all makes this a go to ,all day .all-terrain bike

    White double cab with a B@#$%$h showing us middle finger .I was also in C group .There were 3 riders i saw that got swept of the road by the crosswind on the Ventersdorp road .One of them was right next to me but he kept it upright on the gravel .The other 2 crashed

    The quickest way i have used to expose a scammer is to ask specific cycling related questions that most will have no clue of .Group set ,,tires, sizing ext .You quickly realize if somebody is talking BS

    I was riding between Arniston and Bredasdorp next to the recently harvested canola fields .I will bet you my new DS bike if you don,t come across a dead cape cobra .On this occasion it was chasing something at speed and as my front wheel came into it,s path it looked like the snake turned around midair ,wheel hight, faster than my brain can calculate what to do .On that day i came 2 live cobra,s and a dead one Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    9.hours gps tracking is not bad without a charge .Always use a PC to charge .Don,t use a cellphone adapter ,they ruin your battery

    I find it really hard to stay in any large bunch .There is a lot more to road cycling and fast times than being fit .Those surges and untimely breakaways kills me .Getting to Steyn city with 13 minutes spare to get my sub 3 gave new meaning to my pain threshold .I am happy with 2h56 but it felt so much harder than previous years .Well organized like always

    The group was passing some of the recumbent cyclists so they were drifting to the right ,the pink taxi never slowed down or took evasive action ,just sped past at high speed .Total selfishness and disrespect for other road users

    Changed to FL at 7am and had a good race with some strong guys keeping the pace up .Still managed 3h03 .V batches is just to strong for me

    My 2014 time was 3hoo,21 i thought we were finished at the bottom of the last climb to the actual finish and relaxed .

    Shimano XTR ,XT ,Deore ..All the same to me .XTR lever started leaking past the seals and the only option is replacement.I was very happy with avid elixer before and am sure the guides will be superb .My latest bike has deore brakes and work just as good as any of the others

    I was trying to hang onto the lead bunch ,but the pace was getting hectic ,so a spared my legs for breedt,s instead and it worked for me

    Breedt,s climb was the easy bit .Still relatively fresh legs for that part .Those long drags against a headwind going back was tough . Might be mostly dirt road but a good route .I don,t know what those 2 sedan car owners were thinking riding up Breedt,s ?

    You were standing in front of me at the start .Your gearing looked a bit low for the terrain .but the twisting singltract keprt the speed down .I was guessing a 34 x 18 would work well
