  1. Ok so I am sure there are others who can compare :- 2 cyclists in the house (MTB, road and TT). Keep the existing ones going (tyres, chains, lube, tubes etc. etc. etc.) An upgrade now and then (for both of us, more frequent than I can afford) Entries and accom sometimes (always for 2!) Gels, energy bars, recovery drinks etc. And just to make it a little more interesting, Little Ben is also a 'league' paintballer. Think golf is expensive, try a paintball comp sometime! So ja as others have said, how much is enough? Just a little (OK lots!) more would help!
  2. Yip it's there on the Sabie Experience website, did it last year and it made quite a difference as you know exactly what you're in for. Also nice to ride in that area in a 'non-race' situation. You only ride the first 3 days, the TT route is kept for the actual race!
  3. Very very nice, may you have many fun and safe rides on it (him/her not sure!)! Will have to look out for it at SabieX. Anyone else going to the pre ride in November?
  4. 5. He said XT bits so I guess not 10speed but rather MTB
  6. I have more than 1 Specialized! Does that count more?
  7. _Daemon_ - probably not the way you ride
  8. Not sure as others have said about the negativity around CF MTB's. My son little Ben rides a Specialized CF hardtail. My guess is he rides harder (some hubbers can attest to that!) than most of the pansies around (includes me!) and it's still 100%! I think that's a great price for a pretty bling frame, if you can afford it get it! As it is second hand I would just check it out pretty well for obvious damage and for play in the bushes/bearings and area around the suspension. Carbon Fibre isn't just spastic plastic!
  9. Check it here :- http://www.genuineinnovations.com/bikeprods.aspx?prodid=1012
  10. Just use maxxis crossmark LUST then you wont get sidewall cuts. Have been using the non LUST ones till now but have been taking stick from my LBS so am having the LUST's fitted at the moment for the Eston Drifter this weekend. BTW they aint cheap! Will retire those non LUST ones to the training wheels with tubes. Have been a Crossmark convert since they first came out, converted from the Larsen TT's. I carry the repair kit, a tube and a normal puncture repair kit. Bit of a scout mate!
  11. Some of you may know my stance on tubeless being 'a wolf in sheeps clothing'! Yes I do still ride tubeless as I still think the risk/incidence of punctures is way less. Having said that when it goes wrong it's ugly !!!! You have to get the tyre off, remove the tubeless rim strip, many of you will know it's amazing how much Stans/Joes there is still in the tyre even though it wouldn't seal! It gets all over the wheel, your gloves/hands, clothes everything. Recently while at a bike shop I bought a tubeless repair kit. Consists of like a big sewing needle with a small screwdriver type handle and then a couple of snotty looking strands on a 'card'. Dropped it in my emergency spares bag and forgot about it. This past Saturday we are riding along merrily with some mates from our club and one of the youngsters gets one of those 'unsealable' holes in his tubeless. Quick as a flash I whip out this little kit, push one of the snot strings through (it sort of cuts apart and only the needle thing comes out leaving the string in!) and hey presto (ja not presta!) it seals. Pump up and off we go not another phhsssfftt from that hole! They say if it's a bit of a bigger hole put in 2 strings! Hope this tip may save someone that sealant all over experience. OK so if it's a sidewall cut you're still on your own! Scotty - please please no yestubes today!
  12. I guess leaning aint gonna cut it!
  13. Just made me think of that old joke - how do you make a hormone? Don't pay her!!!!!!
  14. Hotmone - a good looking wife perhaps ?

    Pricelists

I got an MTB with SRAM X9 and another with Shimano XT and guess what they both work! Look after it and even Deore will work. Now when it comes to bling, ja the SRAM sure in my mind anyway looks more the dogs you know what's! Get the best you can afford and that works and looks good to you! OK so now you know exactly what to go out and get! ......... NOT (in that Borat accent!) Oh yes you wanted price lists, don't think the various suppliers / shops like to publicise those to much!
  16. And the 'Landis way' is obviously effective ................ NOT (in that Borat accent!) 1 year on and he's still a dope head!
  17. Sorry for the repetition Fandacious, you beat me to it! But yip it aint that difficult.
  18. Mud Dee - lowest 'unique' bid ring a bell? Else we'd all bid 1c as you rightly say!
  19. Just confirmed 2/9/2007!
  20. CP - Easy sweetie, it's the spring classic so with this weather no chance it can be this weekend! I think it's normally first Sunday in September but I'll check!
  21. Now I don't want to get too technical here but did I not recently see a bike at Cajees (I 'only' bought a tube!) with very similar designed wheels on? Could be that it was only plastic covers though and no filling between, didn't look that close. Must say your graphics look much better! I am sure that you have checked that you are not 'plagiarising' anyone else's design! P.S. Did you get my PM ordering your first production model?
  22. Mux, I guess you don't need no fancy brake pads or are the braking surfaces also made of that floor tile stuff?
  23. Riding Illovo Eston drifter this weekend for 100ZAR, 125ZAR for Northern farm a tad excessive? Sure, would comment as the others but I don't have such a foul mouth by nature (but they are right!).
  24. Ah the bent MTB'r arrives, oh no sorry the bent frame MTB'r I know I know it was just a small dent but then the comment wouldn't be worthwhile to make!
  25. Aaaahhhhhhh just remembered it's OK cause they're all made in that same sweatshop in Taiwan or somewhere, or was that only for roadies?
