  1. #MfM nice going boet!
  2. Most of that in the rain slowly wears one down [emoji26]
  3. Nice seeing you guys out, thanks to the guy shouting some encouragement when I was going the opposite direction on my own near the circus. Was getting a bit miserable ...
  4. Ag nee donner [emoji2959]
  5. I wonder if we'll ever be privy to the final resolution of this thread, the habits of dogs, cats and their owners notwithstanding ...
  6. Not at my house ... it would say 'where are you mate!' [emoji2959]
  7. Will see how it goes .... door to door within an hour or so should be worth a few shekels?
  8. I have seen the movie but won't be doing any of those 'tricks' [emoji848] My grandson took this picture yesterday [emoji41]
  9. Nothing wrong with that [emoji851]
  10. Starting up something doing what I enjoy and possibly helping you at the same time …. offering bicycle messenger service for companies as well as private individuals to move documents and small items within the greater Alberton area. - need a document or small article collected from you and delivered or collected from someone else and brought to you no problem - you or the kids forgot your lunch/something else at home, I can get it to you/them - need to collect or deliver something from or to your 'ex' but don't want to see them or talk to them I'll do it on your behalf [emoji6] - If it fits in a normal backpack I'll take it, as long as it's legal of course! Quick and easy, just a phonecall or WhatsApp, no traffic or parking issues and easy payment! Please see the attached short pamphlet for further info, don't hesitate to call if you need to know anything else. *Note - any suggestions from hubbers regarding how I've structured it, pricing, payment options etc. would be appreciated. Keeping in mind I'd like to keep it relatively simple if possible ... Not looking to start a company and stuff like that [emoji6]
  11. It's a Gios farm gate of a frame (not 'compact') so cut down should not be a problem [emoji16] Will PM you
  12. Busy doing a 'resto-mod' road bike build for a local Christian Charity. They have provided a lot of the parts and I have put together what I have available. The wheels they provided are old Campag but the groupset is Shimano, need a rear wheel not fussed what or how old. Also need a 27.2 seatpost and clamp to go with it, again condition and type irrelevant as long as it works Would appreciate any help with this please, am in the Alberton area ....
  13. Not a compact this time but #MfM think I've torn my 'poepstring' [emoji2959]
  14. Started up a bike messenger service to keep busy while doing something I enjoy. Had this Giant Seek 'commuter' frame just lying around [emoji41] Used it as a gravel grinder for a while but never liked it for some reason, some narrow bars, flat pedals and 28mm slick tyres setup tubeless and it's a hoot riding it through traffic ...
  15. Sounds good mate, was just going on this I saw on FB recently ....
  16. Just a heads up but as far as I'm aware there is no water available at the moment ....
  17. Easy recovery ride after yesterday's shenanigans at the Fast One ... getting rid of any 'lactic acid' if there is any [emoji12] Probably didn't make any friends yesterday but I don't like giving free rides #LoneRanger
  18. Interesting my brother and I had a similar discussion recently ... Obviously unless there were a great difference in weight in most cases once a bike is rolling it's quite difficult to feel the difference in a light or heavy bike, for the average rider, in our opinion of course. I'm sure the 'pro hubbers' will differ and be able to feel a difference of even <100g's [emoji12]
  19. I have been known to ride from home to Vaal Marina every now and then with my gravel bike [emoji6]
  20. Looks pretty good to me ... I've come to the realization that gravel bikes are just that, intended to ride reasonably good gravel roads and jeep track. It's not a mountain bike even though yes I know it can go anywhere! Sadly as far as I'm aware there are no 9sp clutch derailleurs so you may be stuck with the chain slap ... I have just got used to it I guess
  21. 366 days this year ????
  22. Something different today ... 'buurtwag' as my mate calls these town rides [emoji41] Happy new year y'all!
  23. Ai ai ai [emoji19]
  24. I'll buy some batteries soon and report back ....
  25. Y'all will have to up your game my friends! Found these while cleaning up some stuff my Dad left me many years ago .... Knowing my Dad I have little doubt that they are just reproductions/fakes but perhaps I'll just wear then out now and then, no one will be any the wiser will they?
