  1. The newer gen Thule clip on carriers are quite decent, having 4 rigid steel mounting straps, rather then a collections of tie down straps that need to be adjusted every time. Most hanging types are a bit tricky with 2 and most certainly with 3 bikes on the back. If looking at roof racks, another slightly more affordable option over Thule is Holdfast. I've been very happy with the set I have fitted to my Polo, though have never used them to carry a bike.
  2. If there is no local Hubber to help out, find a local bike shop, I'm sure for a couple rands they will sort you out. Cheaper then the damage you going to cause hacking a repair
  3. Have you had the air shaft serviced yet? I know on some Fox 36 forks they have too much grease in the air sleeve and this blocks the port, preventing proper equalising of pressure. I services a friend's 36 and even at operating pressures in the positive chamber it was sucked down almost 50mm! Its fairly straightforward and Rockshox has great service manuals.
  4. Pop off an old, well used master link and you can often see the wear in the pins
  5. One of the big things with OEM/ Enduro bearings vs. BMG etc is that the Enduro bearings are full compliment, ie have no cage or carrier between the balls but is rather filled with balls, I am yet to find a local supplier that carries a full compliment option as is used in suspension pivots. Wheel bearings and BB's are often standard though. Headsets have bevels in them. On that note, in the past I have just BMG / local not full compliment type bearings at 25% the cost and replaced every season rather then the Enduro which maybe lasts me 2 seasons if lucky.
  6. Send the shock in to Droo to check out if you not sure what's going on. He is our suspension wizard Stoke Suspension Worx
  7. Tokai is very safe. Enough traffic at that time of day with other riders or groups that you won't be the only one up there. Otherwise look to connect up with the "Trail Angels"
  8. What cassette are you using? The 9 and 10 speed derailleurs use different lever ratios unfortunately. If running 9 SPD cassette, you can use a 10 SPD Shimano rear derailleur if you use a SRAM 9 SPD shifter. Otherwise you will have to match Shimano 9 or 10 SPD derailleurs to their correct shifter and cassette count.
  9. They Shimano called that Derailleur version a "Rapid Rise." If you can't get the Rapid Rise they still use a standard shifter, so you could use any 9 Spd derailleur with your existing shifter, just loosing the Normal Low capability.
  10. Another good option on the lower budget end is the Merida 120
  11. All the best with the recovery. Do the exercises the OT's give you religiously and you should get range and strength back fairly quickly. Also done the double break and it makes life entertaining!
  12. Look at the chainring too and not just the cassette side
  13. Is the bolt worn or the bushing?
  14. I'll take the grips please. PM incoming
  15. Crank Brothers and dropper post in the past have never been a good idea. Maintenance intensive.
  16. It's actually not bad and he said neg. The bike market is crazy at the moment. Sold a hard tail Trek 26" for R4500 a couple weeks back with no issues!
  17. Yip, being carbon is not a way to guage a purchase or even a good bike. Actually over rated most of the time. I'd probably go Aluminium every time, but that's personal preference. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/dual-suspension-bikes/522345/m-scott-spark-60-dual-sus-26er Chat to Robert, bit closer to you and I'm sure he can hook you up with something
  18. Us CT folk also need one
  19. If you worried about being scammed, used the BikeHub Pay option. Though to be honest, that seems like quite a bit of money for an older 26" bike, not that 26" or the bike is an issue.
  20. Do you have the tool required? Would be very intrigued to see what difference it could make to my Pike
  21. Had the retaining ring for my x1 Race Face crank work itself loose once causing a similar creak.
  22. Sale is for the Sale is for the 500ml spray bottle + free 500ml flip top bottle for R35. My Midas had run out of stock of the free 500ml bottle, so gave it a skip.
  23. I'm looking for a 10spd with 11-42 or 46T. My wife is swearing at the 11-40T. Otherwise a 28T four bolt NW shimano front ring
  24. Got to make a turn at Midas later any way, maybe I'll pick up a bottle. I usually have a 5L bottle of Prepsol around for degreasing purposes. Amazing stuff but not very friendly on Matt paint surfaces in the long run. Works wonders on my motorbike.
  25. PicknPay has a home brand they that's called "Sun Sure" I've been using the 50 spf for the last couple years and its amazing. Not super oily, waterproof and doesn't run into the eyes when you sweat either. Use it for everything from riding to kite surfing. Comes in different sizes, I just buy the monster 450ml pump bottle which is cheap at about R250. Oh did I mention, I'm a ginger so its GINGER APPROVED ™
